In 2024, the provincial forest rangers inspected, detected, and processed 64 cases of law violations in the forestry sector, a decrease of 25 cases compared to 2023, including: 21 cases of illegal deforestation; 7 cases of violations of regulations on forest fire prevention and control; 11 cases of violations of regulations on protection of wild animals; 15 cases of violations of administrative procedures...
Officers of Yen Lap District Forest Protection Department inspect a wildlife breeding facility in Dong Thinh commune.
The confiscated exhibits and means of administrative violations include: 6,925m3 of common round timber; 1,717m3 of common sawn timber; 0,239m3 of rare sawn timber; 386 individuals of common forest animals; 2 individuals of rare and endangered forest animals. The total amount collected and paid to the State budget is over 300 million VND.
The number of law violations in 2024 decreased compared to the same period in 2023. This shows that efforts in forest protection have been effective. Propaganda work on forest resource protection has also contributed to raising public awareness. Close coordination between authorities at all levels, forest rangers and localities in patrolling, detecting and handling violations has helped reduce illegal logging and better protect forest resources.
Along with that, the forest rangers also guide wildlife captive facilities to comply with the law. At the same time, they strengthen inspections of forest fire prevention and fighting, prevent and strictly handle violations of hunting, capturing, buying, selling and transporting wild animals and birds.
