On the morning of July 10, at the opening session of the 18th Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Council, Mr. Nguyen Van Thi, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, said that in the first 6 months of the year, the work of job creation and income improvement for workers received clear attention.

Specifically, jobs were created for 30,500 workers, an increase of 3% over the same period in 2022. Of which, 5,612 workers went to work abroad under contracts, an increase of 47%; unemployment benefits were provided to 13,345 workers; social security policies were implemented promptly and fully.
In addition, the province has paid preferential subsidies to nearly 404,000 people with revolutionary contributions and their relatives; paid social subsidies to over 1.2 million beneficiaries and families caring for and raising social protection beneficiaries.

In the first 6 months of the year, the province also organized the reception of 16 remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in Laos for burial at Dong Tam international martyrs cemetery.
Attention is paid to the work of protecting and caring for children, promoting gender equality, and advancing women; ethnic and religious programs and policies are implemented promptly and effectively, preventing complicated situations regarding ethnicity and religion.

Also according to the report from the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province, the growth rate of total product in the area in the first 6 months of the year is estimated at 7%, ranking 18th in the country. Of which, agriculture - forestry - fishery increased by 3.87%; industry - construction increased by 8.55%; services increased by 8.1%; product tax decreased by 3.33%.
In particular, the tourism industry has had a strong breakthrough after the Covid-19 pandemic, welcoming more than 8.3 million visitors in just the first 6 months of the year, an increase of 13% over the same period in 2022. Total tourism revenue reached more than 15,000 billion VND.
However, besides the achieved results, there are still many limitations, many areas did not achieve as planned, decreased compared to the same period in 2022, such as: mobilizing social investment capital reached more than 66,000 billion VND (down 4.8%); disbursement of public investment capital only reached nearly 40% of the assigned plan.
State budget revenue in the first 6 months of 2023 reached VND 20,577 billion, down 25% over the same period in 2022. In addition, some budget revenue areas decreased sharply compared to the same period such as: land use fee collection decreased by 60%; environmental protection tax collection decreased by 48%; personal income tax collection decreased by 31%...
The reason for the sharp decrease in state budget revenue in some areas is the negative impact from the capital, financial and real estate markets; the impact from the application of policies on exemption, reduction, extension, postponement and extension of taxes, fees, charges, land rents, land use fees, and reduction of value added tax applicable for 2023 approved by the National Assembly and the Government.
The 14th session of the 18th Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Council will take place from July 10 to 12.
