5 homestays in Cu Lao Cham awarded "Biodiversity-friendly tourism facilities" certificate

The activity was carried out within the framework of the project "Integrating natural resource management and biodiversity conservation objectives into socio -economic development planning and management of biosphere reserves in Vietnam" at the Cu Lao Cham - Hoi An world biosphere reserve (referred to as the BR project).

At the program, representatives of the Cu Lao Cham - Hoi An World Biosphere Reserve Management Board awarded the certificate of "Biodiversity-friendly tourism facility" to 5 homestays including: Cai Vong Homestay (Bai Lang village); Trang Vu and Mai Truong homestays (Bai Ong village); Hai Long and Lau Thu homestays (Bai Huong village) reaching the level of "2 branches of parasol trees".

At the event, the organizers also introduced the biodiversity-friendly tourism facility certification program to continue to expand in Cu Lao Cham; launched a video contest "Promoting biodiversity-friendly tourism facilities"; and consulted on the biodiversity-friendly criteria set applicable to typical local products in Tan Hiep commune.

According to the representative of the Management Board of Cu Lao Cham - Hoi An World Biosphere Reserve, this is a pilot program in the core area of ​​Cu Lao Cham - Hoi An World Biosphere Reserve to encourage accommodation establishments in Cu Lao Cham to move towards green and sustainable development.
