The tournament had 402 athletes from 28 districts, towns and cities. These were excellent athletes selected from the Phu Dong Sports Festival at the grassroots level. The competition rules were applied according to the current Table Tennis Law of the Department of Physical Education and Sports , Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Athletes compete in the following age groups: Primary, Secondary, High School with the following events: Men's singles, Women's singles, Men's doubles, Women's doubles and Mixed doubles, Men's team, Women's team. The Organizing Committee will award 1 First Prize, 1 Second Prize, 2 Third Prizes for each event.
Table tennis has been one of the official competitions of the Phu Dong Sports Festival for many years; at the same time, it is a sport chosen by many schools as part of the school health program to promote and maintain the training movement among students, improve physical fitness, enhance health, meet the needs of learning and cultivation, contributing to the comprehensive development of students.
The tournament is an opportunity to evaluate physicaleducation in general and extracurricular activities in table tennis in particular; to select outstanding athletes with excellent achievements to represent the city to compete in the National Phu Dong Sports Festival.
Expressing their joy at receiving the Gold medal in the mixed doubles category for middle school age, Vu Thai Bang and Vu Ngoc Uyen Linh - students of Van Yen Middle School (Ha Dong District) said: We are very happy to participate in the Phu Dong Sports Festival. This is an opportunity for us to exchange and learn from friends who have the same interest in sports. We hope to continue to compete at the National Phu Dong Sports Festival.
According to the jury, all matches were of high professional quality, with athletes competing enthusiastically, innocently, and appropriately for their age. The host, Cau Giay District, has prepared adequate facilities and ensured security and safety throughout the tournament.
