Four Vietnamese representatives are in the top 100 golf resorts voted by an American magazine, including one resort ranked first in Asia.

In late September, the US Golf Magazine honored the world's top 100 golf resorts, with Vietnam having 4 representatives: Laguna Golf Lang Co (Thua Thien - Hue), Ba Na Hills Golf Club (Da Nang), The Bluffs Grand Ho Tram Strip (Ba Ria - Vung Tau) and FLC Halong Bay GC & Luxury Resort (Quang Ninh). Vietnam ranked first in Asia, with 4 out of 11 resorts on the continent honored.

In the category of 11 resorts with the best golf courses in Asia, the American magazine ranked Ba Na Hills Golf Club first (including the golf course and the Mercure Danang French Village Bana Hills resort). This is an 18-hole golf course designed by golfer Luke Donald, who once held the world's number one position, with a length of nearly 7,200 m, 72 standard clubs, and was honored by the World Golf Awards as the best golf course in Asia in 2016, 2017, 2018. The American magazine commented that this place "has a quiet space like a hideaway, separate and contrasting with the hustle and bustle of Da Nang ".

In the top 11 in Asia, The Bluffs Grand Ho Tram Strip ranked 3rd, FLC Halong Bay GC & Luxury Resort ranked 5th and Laguna Golf Lang Co ranked 6th. The remaining positions belong to golf resorts in Cambodia, Korea, Thailand and China.

The Top 100 was voted by the world's leading golf experts as a suggestion for tourists who are passionate about this sport to choose for their upcoming trip. The voting criteria are based on accessibility, beautiful space, facilities, unique experiences outside of golf, and professionalism of the staff.

"Central Vietnam is truly the perfect golf destination," said Gary Dixon, General Manager of Ba Na Hills Golf Course.

Golf courses in the Central region have increasingly attracted international attention in recent years. Two courses in the top 100 are masterpieces of Luke Donald. In addition, the Central region also has golf courses designed by other legendary golfers such as Greg Norman, Colin Montgomerie, Robert Trent Jones Jr and Jack Nicklaus.

At the Vietnam-Korea tourism cooperation conference on September 29, Chairman of the Vietnam Tourism Association Vu The Binh said that tourists who combine golf with tourism are one of the " gold mines " that Vietnam needs to fully exploit. He gave an example: Korean tourists have changed their trends after the pandemic, but their interest in playing golf remains the same. Before the pandemic, Vietnam welcomed 1 million visitors to play golf and in 2023, it will welcome a similar number of visitors. "Golfers often spend a lot, use luxury services, and bring great economic benefits to the tourism industry," said Mr. Binh.
