I want to study a second degree in English to start a career in translation and interpretation, but I'm afraid that starting late will leave me with few job opportunities.
I am a 33-year-old male currently working in a government agency. I am looking to go to university to get a second degree in English Language to find an opportunity to switch to a career as an interpreter or language translator. However, I am struggling with several reasons.
First, at my age is it too late to start learning a new trade?
Second, after finishing my second degree, I will be 36 years old. Will I still have a chance to get a job?
Third, how long is the career of the interpreter and translator?
Fourth, if not English, what other direction do I have?
Hope everyone gives advice.
