Authorities spray disinfectant at the diarrhea outbreak at Quang Thinh Kindergarten
According to the People's Committee of Hai Ha District, from September 16 to 17, Hai Ha District Medical Center received 10 cases hospitalized for treatment with similar symptoms such as fever, abdominal pain, and diarrhea.
Through information verification, all 10 cases above are students of Quang Thinh Kindergarten. In addition, through epidemiological investigation at the school and related medical stations, the functional forces of Hai Ha district recorded that from September 5 to 15, there were more than 20 other cases, all of whom were students and teachers of Quang Thinh Kindergarten, who also had symptoms of diarrhea but treated themselves at home.
Thus, the total number of acute diarrhea cases in the past 11 days in Hai Ha district is 30 cases and all are at Quang Thinh Kindergarten.
Through testing, analysis and evaluation by Hai Ha District Medical Center and Quang Ninh CDC, the results showed that the cause was not food poisoning but that all cases were infected with E. Coli and Shigella bacteria. These bacteria cause gastrointestinal diseases that spread from person to person.
Faced with the above situation, the authorities of Hai Ha district have disinfected the outbreak at Quang Thinh Kindergarten; at the same time, they have disseminated recommendations to the people, especially parents with young children, on disease prevention measures to avoid the spread of the disease in the community.
