(GLO)- Early in the morning of June 2, Ms. Le Thi L. discovered her husband and two children unconscious while lying in the car. She then opened the door and called people to take them to the emergency room, but one of her nieces had died.
Due to a power outage in their home, a father and his three children in Truong Son town, An Lao district (Hai Phong city) went to their family garage to sleep in a car with license plate 15A-35.990 with the air conditioner on. At around 3:13 a.m. on June 2, when the power came back on, Ms. Le Thi L. (born in 1976) called the three father and children to wake them up and go into the house. She was shocked to find her husband and two children lying unconscious in the car.

Mrs. L. then opened the door and called for help to take her husband and two children to the Kien An General Hospital (Hai Phong City). Currently, Mrs. L.'s husband, Mr. Pham Van T. (born in 1974) and son Pham Ngoc K. (born in 2008) are still in the emergency room and have regained consciousness, while her daughter Pham Minh H. (born in 2003) has died.
The cause was determined by An Lao District Police to be carbon monoxide (CO) suffocation in the car.
According to experts, when a car stops and parks in one place with the air conditioner on, CO gas will be produced. At this time, CO gas will seep into the car compartment and not escape like when the car is moving, causing harm to the body, especially poisoning. If the body is poisoned, coma can lead to death when closing the door and sleeping in the car.
