The three daughters of the chairman and wife of the "shrimp king" Minh Phu are about to receive the transfer of nearly 23 million shares with a market value of nearly 400 billion.
Minh Phu Seafood Corporation has just announced the resolution of the extraordinary shareholders' meeting to be held at the end of 2023, with the participation of 22 shareholders representing nearly 374 million MPC shares, accounting for 93.5% of shares.
One of the contents approved at the congress was the transaction of receiving and transferring shares without public offering between two individuals Nguyen Hong Phuc and Nguyen Thi Kim Xuyen to the three daughters of the chairman of "shrimp king" Minh Phu.
These two individuals transferred all 22.7 million MPC shares they were holding, equivalent to an ownership ratio of about 5.67%, to three people including Le Thi Minh Phu, Le Thi Minh Quy and Le Thi Minh Ngoc. These are the three daughters of Minh Phu's Chairwoman, Ms. Chu Thi Binh and her husband Le Van Quang.
After these transactions, the three children of the "shrimp king" couple will all own an equal number of shares, about 11 million shares each, equivalent to a 2.75% ownership ratio.
The transfer method is through agreement and/or order matching on the stock exchange, expected to take place in the first half of this year. If calculated at the MPC market price of about 17,000 VND, the number of shares to be transferred is worth nearly 390 billion VND.
In addition to these three children, the "shrimp king" couple also has another daughter, Ms. Le Thi Dieu Minh, who also holds more than 13 million MPC shares. If the transfer transaction is successful, the four daughters of the "shrimp king" will hold a total of more than 29.2 million MPC shares, equivalent to nearly 500 billion VND in assets according to the market price on the stock market.
Currently, Minh Phu Chairman, Ms. Chu Thi Binh holds more than 70.2 million shares and her husband, Mr. Le Van Quang holds nearly 64.3 million MPC shares. In total, Ms. Chu Thi Binh and Mr. Quang's families will directly and indirectly hold more than 198.7 million shares, equivalent to 49.7% ownership after this transaction.
Minh Phu is one of the largest shrimp exporters in the country. However, this year the company has faced many difficulties in its core business of processing and exporting seafood. In the first 9 months of this year, the company's revenue decreased by 46% compared to the same period last year and resulted in a loss of nearly 110 billion VND.
Recently, this enterprise announced a plan to build a social housing project with a scale of more than 17.6 hectares, a total investment of 632.8 billion VND, serving a population of 3,200-3,800 people. The project is located in Khanh An commune, U Minh district, Ca Mau province.
