29 establishments in Hanoi overdue fire prevention and fighting commitments

TPO - The Hanoi People's Committee requested investors to urgently remedy existing violations of fire prevention and fighting at 29 facilities - which have exceeded the commitment deadline, and at the same time proceed to remedy the remaining violations according to the roadmap.

Permanent Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Hong Son has just signed and issued an Official Dispatch on organizing strict implementation and thoroughly overcoming existing violations of fire prevention and fighting (PCCC) at high-rise buildings.

Accordingly, to ensure absolute safety in fire prevention and fighting (PCCC) at facilities, the City People's Committee requires the legal entity as the investor to seriously organize the implementation of the following contents:

Firstly, urgently remedy existing violations of fire prevention and fighting regulations at 29 facilities (which have exceeded the commitment deadline), and at the same time proceed to remedy the remaining violations according to the roadmap committed to the City Police.

In case the establishments still deliberately delay, do not implement the correction, do not ensure the progress within the committed deadline, the city requires the management agencies to resolutely handle strictly, temporarily suspend, suspend the operation... of the violating department, item, or construction; collect, consolidate records, investigate, clarify, and handle according to the provisions of law.

Second, immediately implement enhanced measures to ensure fire safety at facilities, focusing on: Regularly self-organize fire safety inspections at facilities within the scope of management; strengthen propaganda about fire safety for people, management boards, and building administrators; select active factors with knowledge and skills about fire safety to build and establish fire safety forces for buildings and floors, establish public fire fighting points... to ensure substance and effectiveness;

Organize fire fighting and rescue drills for buildings; mobilize people to support funding sources to purchase fire prevention and fighting equipment (fire extinguishers, gas masks, ladders, rescue equipment, etc.) for apartments; arrange for 24/7 staff to promptly handle situations when fires and explosions occur.

During the implementation process, units must closely monitor the construction work of contractors to prevent fires and explosions at the construction site.

Previously, from November 22, 2023 to December 16, 2023 and from March 27, 2024 to March 29, 2024, the City Police coordinated with representatives of the Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue Police Department - Ministry of Public Security to organize inspections, re-inspections, and instructions on overcoming existing problems and violations of fire prevention and fighting for 29 high-rise buildings invested by a number of legal entities.
