Speaking at the Vietnam Tech Impact Summit 2024 held on the morning of December 3, Mr. Truong Gia Binh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of FPT Corporation, commented that the world is experiencing unprecedented fluctuations, from geopolitical crises to disruptions in the supply chain.
"Vietnam is becoming the safest harbor in the world's geopolitical storms," he emphasized.
FPT Chairman believes that with increasingly developing diplomatic relations with major powers and a solid position in the region, Vietnam is becoming an attractive bright spot. "Vietnam has a position and is shining on the world technology map," he said.

Mr. Truong Gia Binh also emphasized that data has become the most important fuel for every economy. "If I had to choose one word, I would choose data," he emphasized.
AI, blockchain and other digital technologies all rely on data to develop. However, Mr. Binh also warned that data only shows its value when it is properly managed and has appropriate support policies.
"Vietnam has the power and strength to shine on the global technology map. But to do that, we must commit and act today," Mr. Truong Gia Binh affirmed.
Digital assets are borderless, legal framework is a prerequisite
Sharing the same view, Mr. Nguyen Duy Hung, Chairman of SSI Securities Corporation, also emphasized that technology and blockchain are no longer distant concepts but have "entered every corner of every family".
Digital assets are no longer a foreign concept but have become an indispensable part of the global financial system. Pioneering countries in this field not only promote innovation but also build a strategic position in the global economy.
According to Forbes research, Vietnam currently ranks second in the world in terms of ownership and interest in digital assets. Mr. Hung believes that the development of blockchain applications is a clear demonstration of the potential and creativity of domestic enterprises.

However, Mr. Hung also frankly pointed out the major challenges that the Vietnamese market is facing.
“This is not just a story about technology, but a story about the ecosystem,” he said. He said Vietnam still lacks a clear legal framework to support investors and businesses to develop with peace of mind, avoid the risk of fraud and protect legitimate rights.
He compared: "Tangible assets have borders and customs. But digital assets do not." Therefore, a transparent legal framework is needed for management, helping Vietnamese businesses not have to go abroad like Singapore to establish and have their assets legally recognized.
He also emphasized that technology businesses not only need capital, but also a stable legal environment. "We want to spend money to support businesses, but we don't know how to do it without a clear legal framework," Mr. Hung shared.
SSI Chairman believes that if Vietnam fails to build a strong and sustainable market today, the great opportunity for digital assets will be missed and "no one knows when the opportunity will come again". "If no one lights the fire today, there will be no fire", he emphasized.
He believes that Vietnam needs a legal framework to give creators, investors and the entire technology ecosystem peace of mind to develop. Only then can Vietnam truly become a strong technology hub not only in the region but also globally.
