2,200 commandos and aircraft will perform at the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024

According to information from the organizing committee, the opening ceremony of the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024 is expected to feature a flight demonstration by the air force and about 2,200 officers and soldiers performing martial arts.

On November 11, Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien, Deputy Minister of National Defense , led a delegation from the Ministry of National Defense to inspect the field and listen to a report on preparations for the 2024 Vietnam International Defense Exhibition at Gia Lam Airport (Hanoi).

Exhibition of meaning and stature

According to the report of the General Department of Defense Industry - the standing agency of the Organizing Committee, the Steering Committee for the organization of the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024, in the past time, the exhibition organizing subcommittees have actively and proactively implemented tasks and work according to the plan of the organizing committee.

At the same time, promptly report, direct, and adjust plans and tasks to prepare for the exhibition, ensuring close adherence to the actual situation.

Up to now, the tasks have been implemented according to the approved schedule and plan, of which some tasks have achieved or exceeded the set targets.

Speaking at the inspection, Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien acknowledged and highly appreciated the determination and efforts of agencies and units in coordinating and synchronously implementing the preparation work.

Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien once again emphasized the significance and significance of this exhibition and said that the amount of work to be carried out is still large, while the requirements are high, so units must be determined, make efforts and try to complete all preparations for the exhibition.

Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien also requested relevant units to carefully review plans, focus on and urgently complete infrastructure, overall decoration for the exhibition and remaining work, ensuring quality and progress.

The Organizing Committee also noted that it is necessary to pay attention, focus, and do well the propaganda work, reception work, cultural and artistic activities, and ensure security and safety during the exhibition.

More than 140 contacts and companies from 27 countries responded to participate.

The Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024 is scheduled to take place from December 19 to 22 at Gia Lam Airport (Hanoi). This is one of the activities in a series of events celebrating the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army.

According to information from the organizers, this year's exhibition has a total area of ​​over 100,000m², including 18 areas.

Of which the exhibition area is nearly 35,000m² (including indoor and outdoor).

According to the organizers, it is expected that 69 types of weapons and equipment in the Vietnam People's Army will be displayed at the exhibition.

So far, three countries have registered to exhibit in the outdoor area: the US, Russia and Italy.

On the international side, as of November 8, more than 140 contacts and companies from 27 countries have responded to participate in displaying products. Compared to the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2022, this year there are 239 more booths.

In particular, at the opening ceremony, there will be a welcome flight performance by the Vietnam Air Force; about 2,200 officers and soldiers of special forces will perform martial arts; the border guards will use 80 military dogs and 80 trainers to perform.

Fields of display at the exhibition

- Air defense and air force systems and equipment: fighter jets, helicopters, drones, artillery systems, air defense missiles...

- Naval systems and equipment: submarines, warships, unmanned ships, support ships, reconnaissance and underwater observation equipment, torpedoes, mines, surface-to-sea missiles, sea-to-sea missiles.

- Army systems and equipment: infantry weapons, fire weapons, self-propelled artillery, ground artillery, tanks, armored vehicles...

- Security systems and equipment: biometrics, anti-terrorism and internal state security systems, cyber security crime prevention systems, lethal weapons.
