178,124 students in Quang Tri province enter the new school year 2024

Tomorrow morning, September 5, along with the whole country, 398 schools in Quang Tri province joyfully welcomed 178,124 students, including 41,880 students in the first grades, to attend the opening ceremony of the new school year 2024 - 2025.

On the eve of the new school year, the education and training sector has been actively implementing solutions to mobilize students to go to school, especially in mountainous and disadvantaged areas; educational institutions, together with all levels and sectors, have increased their proximity to the area, and promoted and mobilized students and parents to send their children to school.

In preparation for the new school year, the Department of Education and Training of Quang Tri province has paid attention to and prepared the necessary conditions, ready to serve teaching and learning. The scale of the school and class network has been planned and arranged in a streamlined and efficient manner, creating favorable conditions for students to go to school. The entire education sector has 398 preschool, general education and vocational education - continuing education facilities.

As of May 31, 2024, the province has a total of 13,914 managers, teachers, employees, and contract workers. The team of teachers and educational managers has developed in both quantity and quality, basically ensuring the requirements of teaching and organizing educational activities.

Up to now, educational facilities and equipment have been invested in a standardized manner. The rate of solid classrooms at all levels has increased: 59.18% for preschools, 82.61% for primary schools, 96.85% for secondary schools and 100% for high schools. The Department has implemented the purchase of equipment packages under the 2018 General Education Program for ethnic minority boarding and semi-boarding schools; purchased teaching equipment for primary schools; purchased specialized equipment for high school subject classrooms, and minimum teaching equipment for high school levels. The equipment invested in and purchased has gradually ensured teaching and learning at educational institutions.

The Quang Tri education sector has identified the theme for the 2024-2025 school year as: "Discipline, responsibility, innovation, improving the quality of education and training", and at the same time, implementing 16 key tasks. In particular, continuing to effectively implement the 2018 General Education Program according to the roadmap, ensuring progress and quality. Improving teachers' responsibility and ethics; strengthening education on ethics, lifestyle, life skills, legal education, physical education for students, ensuring school safety.

Review planning and rearrange the scale and network of educational facilities. Improve the quality of teachers and educational managers at all levels to meet the requirements of educational innovation. Improve the quality of education, effectively implement preschool, general education and continuing education programs; promote career orientation and student streaming after secondary school.

Implement digital transformation and promote the application of IT in teaching, learning and educational management. Continue to mobilize investment resources, strengthen facilities to ensure the quality of educational and training activities and implement the 2018 General Education Program.
