The Golden Globe Award is chaired by the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, in coordination with the Ministry of Science and Technology, and has been presented annually since 2003.
This year, the award was launched in early June and will last until mid-August 2024. The Organizing Committee received a total of 69 applications, in 5 fields: Information Technology, Digital Transformation and Automation, Medical and Pharmaceutical Technology, Biotechnology, Environmental Technology, and New Materials Technology. Each field has 1-3 representatives winning the award.
Most of the candidates are PhDs, working at universities, the rest are studying and researching in France, the US, Sweden, Singapore... In terms of age, nearly 18% are under 30 years old, the youngest is 22 years old, in the field of New Materials Technology.
The award council said that many candidates have patents, utility solutions, many high-quality international publications in category Q1, many domestic and international awards and medals and are outstanding in community activities.
Speaking at the award ceremony, Secretary of the Central Executive Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Nguyen Minh Triet assessed that the scientific research and innovation movement among youth, students and young scientists has developed strongly over the years. Therefore, the Golden Globe Award has also constantly innovated, expanded the scope, subjects and fields of consideration, aiming to develop high-quality human resources.
Mr. Triet said that after receiving the award, many young scientists have become leaders, managers, playing important roles in science and technology agencies and organizations; or are founders and leaders of large-scale technology enterprises... Regardless of their position, they continue to affirm their research capacity with valuable scientific works.
After 13 consecutive years of Tan Hiep Phat accompanying the Golden Globe Awards, at the 2024 Awards Ceremony, the Company's Number Energy Drink brand announced an additional sponsorship of 2 billion VND this year with the desire to accompany and support young scientific talents to ignite their passion, creativity, and develop science and technology to contribute to the country and serve society.

This is a new, very practical and effective direction to support young talents, help them develop themselves and contribute to the community,” Mr. Tu commented.
The need to find social resources to accompany and support scientific research and develop inventions for widespread application throughout society is a practical need of all young scientific talents.
Dr. Nguyen Van Son, Lecturer of the Faculty of Information Technology, University of Technology, VNU Hanoi, winner of the 2024 Golden Globe Award, said that the participation of businesses like Tan Hiep Phat in the Golden Globe Award is a very meaningful contribution to researchers, especially young researchers from abroad.
“This support helps us have resources to support future research, especially in the early stages when we first return to Vietnam. It helps us shape our research direction and position in the research community. This year, the Central Youth Union also awarded the 2024 Vietnam Female Science and Technology Student Award to 20 students from 13 universities. The largest number of these is from the University of Technology, Ho Chi Minh City National University with 5 students.
This year's Vietnam Female Science and Technology Award has also been revised, supplemented and expanded with 8 award groups, attracting a large number of female students to register for the award. From 114 applications introduced for the award, based on the results of the work and proposals of the Award Council, the Central Secretariat of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union decided to award the 2024 award to 20 outstanding female students.
Each female student who won the prize was awarded a certificate of merit by the Central Youth Union Executive Committee, an award symbol and a cash prize.
