Since the middle of last year, due to the impact of the world, manufacturing industries such as wood, textiles, and footwear have suffered from a shortage of orders. Many factories with many workers in southern provinces such as Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, and Dong Nai have had to reduce their workforce. Workers in many enterprises are unemployed and their income has decreased.

Representatives of trade unions in southern provinces said that this year's Tet bonus will be high or low depending on the industry and export market. For example, in the same garment industry, businesses exporting to Europe will be affected more and the bonus will be lower. Many factories have started to receive year-end orders, so they are waiting for their partners to pay to balance their cash flow, and will only announce it in January 2024.

The Tet bonus levels announced by provinces and cities are based on the reported data of a number of businesses in the area. According to the leader of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the law does not require businesses to give Tet bonuses, but this amount demonstrates the social responsibility of factory owners. Especially when times are difficult, workers look forward to Tet bonuses more, and early announcement will help them feel secure.

Today is the deadline for localities to report the salary and Tet bonus situation to the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs.
