On the afternoon of September 24, information from the authorities of Kien Hai district, Kien Giang province said that 4 out of 12 students of Kien Hai Secondary and High School suspected of food poisoning have been transferred to the mainland for treatment.
According to initial information, after eating at the canteen at Kien Hai Secondary and High School (Kien Giang) on the afternoon of September 23, some students of this school had symptoms of suspected food poisoning such as stomachache, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and fever.

Some parents bought medicine for their children, others took their children to Kien Hai District Medical Center for examination.
By the morning of September 24, 12 students came to Kien Hai District Medical Center for examination with symptoms of food poisoning. After that, 1 student had low blood pressure so Kien Hai District Medical Center transferred him to Kien Giang General Hospital for monitoring and treatment, 3 students were transferred to the mainland by their families. Currently, 8 students are being treated at Kien Hai District Medical Center. Currently, their health is basically stable.
Currently, the school has directed homeroom teachers to monitor the students' situation and coordinate with parents to temporarily suspend the above students for treatment. At the same time, they have visited and encouraged the students.
On the same day, Kien Hai district established an inspection team to collect food samples from the school cafeteria for testing to determine the exact source of the poisoning.
