108 children participated in contact and dialogue with the People's Council delegates of Chu Pah district

(GLO)- On the afternoon of June 2, the People's Council of Chu Pah district (Gia Lai province) organized a program to meet and dialogue with children in 2023.

The meeting and dialogue were chaired by Mr. Tran Minh Son - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the District People's Council, Pham Minh Phung - Vice Chairman of the District People's Committee, Nguyen Hoai Phuong - Secretary of the District Youth Union. Also attending the program were leaders of the District People's Committee; representatives of the district's specialized departments and offices, leaders of the People's Committees of communes and towns and 108 children in the district.

At the meeting and dialogue, the children boldly asked questions to the district People's Council delegates about the following issues: the impact of information technology and social networks on children; how to prevent and avoid bad, toxic and harmful information on social networks; facilities for children to play, entertain and study during the summer, traffic safety and school security, protecting children's rights, preventing injuries, drowning and child abuse. The problems: rural roads in some communes are damaged and degraded, affecting the way to school; the situation of students violating the Road Traffic Safety Law; clean water for daily life in schools; food safety at points of sale in front of school gates... were also of interest and suggestions to the children.

With a frank and open spirit, the legitimate thoughts and aspirations of children were seriously listened to and thoroughly answered by the delegates of the People's Council of Chu Pah district and leaders of the district's specialized departments and offices. At the same time, specific directions and solutions were given on the work of protecting, caring for and educating children in the coming time.

Concluding the meeting and dialogue, Secretary of Chu Pah District Party Committee Tran Minh Son emphasized: Currently, the hottest issue is drowning in children, especially in the summer. Therefore, I suggest that families, schools and the community propagate and instruct their children not to play near lakes, rivers and streams. Moreover, the meeting and dialogue becomes a useful forum for students to improve their life skills and legal knowledge to protect themselves and to propagate to their friends about children's rights. After the dialogue program, the opinions of children will be compiled by relevant departments, branches, associations and unions, and forwarded to competent authorities for resolution and response.

On this occasion, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Chu Pah district presented certificates of merit to 27 students with excellent achievements in the 2022-2023 school year and 108 gifts to children participating in the meeting and dialogue.
