On the morning of September 11, Nhan Dan Newspaper and IB Group Vietnam organized the announcement ceremony of the event "Bond Live In Vietnam" which will take place at 8:00 p.m. on October 5 at the Vietnam National Convention Center.
Journalist Le Quoc Minh - Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper said, "Good Morning Vietnam" is a music event hosted by Nhan Dan Newspaper, held annually not only with the purpose of spreading the world's top music to Vietnam but also has profound humanitarian value because all ticket sales are used for charity purposes.
After the resounding success of the opening night of "Kenny G Live In Vietnam" in 2023, this time, the organizers were lucky to match the schedule with Bond - the world's best string quartet who came to Vietnam twice in 2015 and 2016. However, this is the first time the four talented girls have come to the Vietnamese public in a live concert of the largest scale ever, with an international standard stage and audience.

"The "Good Morning Vietnam" project has achieved success and spread widely in the community. Following this project, Nhan Dan Newspaper and IB Group Vietnam invited Bond to Vietnam. The four Bond girls are no strangers to Vietnamese audiences. Bond has been to Vietnam twice, the first time was at the Monsoon music event, the second time was at a music event of a business. This time, Bond came to Vietnam not only to bring top-notch music to Vietnamese audiences but also to contribute to the charity fund of Nhan Dan Newspaper. Accordingly, all the ticket sales of the music night will be contributed by the Organizing Committee to support people who suffered heavy losses in storm No. 3.
It must be added that Bond is a band that rarely tours in countries around the world. Being invited and scheduled to perform in October, right in the fall, is very lucky, right at the time we wanted. It is even more meaningful when in the context of people in some northern provinces suffering a lot of damage caused by storm No. 3 and the concert, in addition to bringing artistic values, also raises funds to support people suffering damage due to storms and floods," said journalist Le Quoc Minh.
Mr. Nguyen Thuy Duong - Chairman of IB Group also shared with Dan Viet that, before inviting Bond to perform in Vietnam, the Organizing Committee considered many bands. However, Bond was the band that matched the performance schedule in October and met the standards suitable for the "Good Morning Vietnam" project.
"This concert is one of the few live concerts that has been invested in on a large scale, with the largest number of attendees ever for Bond. Bond comes to dedicate to Vietnamese audiences top-notch musical works, the concert is also a highlight in Bond's musical career.
During this visit to Vietnam, Bond hopes to, in addition to serving music, also participate in community charity purposes. Bond also wants to contribute to the Vietnam Seed Fund of Nhan Dan newspaper," Mr. Nguyen Thuy Duong added.
According to Mr. Nguyen Thuy Duong, in the show on October 4, Bond will perform about 20 famous works, including the "hits" that made Bond's name. Many songs will be renewed to be more lively and different.
Answering the question: "Will Bond perform any Vietnamese musical works?", journalist Le Quoc Minh said that the musical works that Bond performs are all works that they have made a mark on and all must be registered for their approval in advance. Not only Bond but also international artists have the same principles, unlike domestic artists.
"Last time, when we invited Kenny G to perform, we also suggested that he perform a Vietnamese musical piece, but after looking at the score, he realized that he could not perform this piece perfectly, so he decided not to perform it anymore. International artists often only choose familiar works so that they can perform them smoothly and sublimely.
This time, Bond will perform alone and will not perform any Vietnamese music. However, it will still be the same people, the same music with very different emotions at each time, so they will certainly bring a lot of excitement to the Vietnamese audience," added journalist Le Quoc Minh.
Bond's special request when accepting to perform in Vietnam
Journalist Le Quoc Minh also emphasized that, in addition to bringing top-notch music to the audience and raising charity funds, the "Good Morning Vietnam" project also has another "mission" which is to spread the beauty of culture, promote the image of the country and people of Vietnam to international friends. Therefore, every international artist coming to Vietnam to perform will participate in the production of an MV.

If in 2023, Kenny G filmed the MV at famous landmarks and destinations in Hanoi, this year Bond will film the MV in another location. This time, the production crew will make the MV in a slightly different form, which is to insert images of Vietnam into the background music so that the audience can both enjoy the music and see the images. Currently, the Organizing Committee has surveyed the location and discussed with the locality to come up with plans for the MV production, but cannot reveal specifics yet.
"We really want to do 63 music nights, invite 63 artists or groups of artists to Vietnam to perform and produce 63 MVs to promote the land and people of that land, but it will probably take time. Last time, promoting the image of the country and people of Vietnam in Kenny G's music night created a very good ripple effect. Those videos were spread on television, on social networks and in the press, so many international friends know about them," journalist Le Quoc Minh expressed.
Journalist Le Quoc Minh also revealed that in order to invite Bond to perform in Vietnam, in addition to having to meet strict requirements regarding travel, accommodation, and artistic quality, there is also a rather special requirement.
"Bond requested that during the pre-performance meeting, the handshake not be too firm, almost just touching, that was a mandatory requirement so as not to affect the performance. They were very careful in protecting their hands because they were performing musical instruments. At first, I was a bit surprised by this request, but this also showed how careful they were in ensuring safety for a performance," said journalist Le Quoc Minh.
Bond is a female musical group consisting of members: Tania Davis (violin), Eos Counsell (violin), Elspeth Hanson (viola) and Gay-Yee Westerhoff (cello). The string quartet from London (England) is famous worldwide for its musical style that blends classical and modern, creating extremely special music. Bond's musical style has been compared to famous violinist Vanessa-Mae, when they combine classical, rock, pop, Latin, folk, jazz, electro with a bit of Indian and Western music styles...
Active since 2000, for the past 24 years, the 4 members of Bond have maintained a youthful, modern performance style and maintained the title of the most successful string quartet in the history of world music. Bond is a rare international quartet with a large fan base in the world as well as in Vietnam thanks to its cheerful, easy-to-listen music and extremely attractive performance style.
To date, Bond has sold over 5 million albums worldwide and is the most successful string quartet in the history of world music. After more than 2 decades, Bond still has a huge fan base worldwide with concerts always packed with audiences because of their "timeless" music and style.
The group's songs "Shine", "Victory", "Hungarian", "Explosive", "Summer"... have become favorite melodies around the world. In 2015 and 2016, Bond came to Vietnam but performed in a limited space. Therefore, although this is the third time coming to Vietnam, this is the first time the public has enjoyed the wonderful melodies and admired Bond's style on the Hanoi stage.
