Secretary of the Nhu Thanh District Party Committee Nguyen Tien Dung said that after VietNamNet newspaper published an article reflecting on the situation of many beggars crawling in front of Phu Na Temple, the district directed the police, the Department of Culture, and the People's Committee of Xuan Du Commune to clarify and take specific measures.

"The group of beggars are people from other places. We have directed the police to investigate and verify who is behind this group of people so that we can take appropriate action," said Mr. Dung.

According to Ms. Le Thi Ngoc Hoa - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Nhu Thanh district, the district has sent a document reporting to the Provincial People's Committee on the above matter.

From the evening of the 30th of Tet to the 8th of January, Phu Na temple welcomed nearly 100,000 visitors.

Ms. Hoa said that the district currently has 6 historical and cultural relics; 3 folk festivals, of which 2 festivals are recognized as national intangible cultural heritage. Most of the relics and festivals take place at the beginning of the new year.

Before the festival activities took place at the relic, the District People's Committee thoroughly grasped the directives of the superiors. At the same time, it required the relic management board to develop a festival organization plan and strictly implement the regulations.

However, at the Phu Na relic site, many beggars appeared sitting in front of the entrance gate...

According to Ms. Hoa, from the first day of the festival, every day, when there were beggars, the relic management board welcomed them to the commune center, invited their families to make a commitment and took them home. At the same time, they supported each person with 15kg of rice and 100,000 VND. However, the next day, many people still returned and there were new beggars.

“In the above situation, in addition to supporting, strengthening propaganda, and mobilizing families to commit to managing their family members, the District People's Committee has also sent an official dispatch to the People's Committees of districts where citizens come to beg at Phu Na, to coordinate in welcoming people and managing citizens, helping to organize the Phu Na Festival in accordance with regulations,” Ms. Hoa shared.

As reported, these days, in front of the gate of Na Son Dong Phu (also known as Phu Na Temple) in Xuan Du Commune, Nhu Thanh District (Thanh Hoa), there are many beggars sitting around, making visitors feel uncomfortable when entering the temple to enjoy the spring scenery.

These beggars sit in the middle of the road, right at the entrance. Among them are many elderly people, disabled people, and even children, sitting around begging for money from locals and tourists...
