On the evening of December 23, the People's Committee of Yen Bai province held a ceremony to announce the decision and award the National Intangible Cultural Heritage certificate for the art of Khen, the art of using beeswax to create patterns on fabric of the Mong people in Mu Cang Chai, Tram Tau, Van Chan districts (Yen Bai province); Opening of the Mong Khen Festival and To Day Flower Festival in 2023.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Tran Huy Tuan - Chairman of Yen Bai Provincial People's Committee emphasized that Yen Bai province currently has 3/7 national intangible cultural heritages - intangible cultural heritages originated from life, labor, production; created and accumulated during the historical process of community formation, closely associated with the life and spiritual cultural activities of the Mong people for thousands of years.
Among them, the "Art of Khen" and "Art of using beeswax to create patterns on fabric" of the Mong ethnic group are heritages with strong cultural nuances; demonstrating the creativity, artistic level as well as the character, character, and behavioral culture of the Mong people in the relationship between people and people, people and nature.
Today's ceremony to announce the Decision and receive the certification of two national intangible cultural heritages is an opportunity to honor the cultural value of the heritage, as well as to express gratitude for the silent and persistent efforts of the community and artisans in preserving and promoting the value of the heritages.
At the same time, promote the responsibility of heritage transmission between generations and heritage practices in the community, so that heritage continues to spread today and tomorrow; "turn heritage into assets" to serve the process of economic, cultural and social development, improve the material and spiritual life and happiness index of the people of all ethnic groups in the province.
The art space is vibrant with cultural colors with the theme "Sound among the clouds" at the Mong Panpipe Performance Festival and To Day Flower Festival in 2023.
This is also an opportunity for the province to introduce unique images of culture, people, potential and tourism strengths of the province, creating a friendly and hospitable image, attracting investors and tourists to Yen Bai. At the ceremony, delegates, people and tourists enjoyed a colorful cultural art space with the theme "Sound among the clouds".
The Khen dance gathered performances by artists and actors from Hanoi and Yen Bai, along with nearly 2,000 extras, artisans and students from Mu Cang Chai district.

As part of the Festival program, Mu Cang Chai district will recreate the Mong ethnic cultural space and the market space from December 22 to 24 to introduce to domestic and foreign tourists unique tourism products and agricultural products.
In addition, there are also cultural and artistic exchange activities such as the Khen Top dance competition, the experience of pounding rice cakes and paragliding at Khau Pha pass.
On this occasion, Yen Bai province also organized booths to display and introduce OCOP products, typical agricultural products of ethnic groups in the province and some neighboring localities such as: Than Uyen (Lai Chau), Muong La (Son La province).
