Identifying trade promotion as an important factor in improving the efficiency of production and business activities of enterprises, especially promoting product consumption, the industry and trade sector has implemented many trade promotion solutions to affirm the position of goods, increase the competitiveness of local products and open up the market.

Through trade promotion activities such as supporting enterprises, cooperatives, production and business establishments, local craft villages to participate in markets, fairs, trade promotion conferences..., it has created conditions for units to promote and introduce typical, characteristic, key products of Thanh Hoa province to a large number of consumers and business communities across the country. At the same time, it is easy to connect with foreign markets, thereby strengthening production links, promoting product consumption towards export.

As an active participant in the province's trade promotion activities, Hai Binh Seafood Processing Cooperative, Hai Binh Ward (Nghi Son Town) has made many innovations from quality to production and packaging processes. Thanks to that, the Cooperative's Vi Thanh fish sauce product achieved 3-star OCOP in 2021, the title of Capital's Golden Quality Product in 2019 and is one of the typical products always present in fairs and exhibitions in and outside the province. The Cooperative's products are also present in supply chains and safe food stores.

Director of the Cooperative Nguyen The Hoang said: "Being selected as a product to participate in the province's annual trade promotion events makes me and the members of the Cooperative extremely proud. This is a good opportunity to promote and introduce to consumers delicious, quality products that have been tested and have QR codes for clear traceability. At the same time, it is also a bridge to help production units, distribution enterprises and consumption sources meet each other, thereby helping each other in business activities and professional knowledge. After each trade promotion event, the Cooperative is known to more consumers, some places order through agents, but there are still some people who call the Cooperative directly to order retail for use and gifts. Thanks to that, the biggest benefit from the trade promotion activities that the Cooperative has participated in is not only sales but also customer market share. To continue to develop, in addition to traditional sales methods, the Cooperative is actively promoting products through websites such as: nongsanantoanthanhhoa.vn, e-commerce platforms as well as flexible sales policies so that consumers nationwide can know about the products".

The owner of An Tam food production facility, Xuan Sinh commune (Tho Xuan), Le Van Tong, said: "Over the past 3 years, I have regularly participated in trade promotion activities in and outside the province. At fairs and exhibitions, I often invite customers to try the product because only when the product is fresh and of good quality will customers decide to buy it. This is a relatively effective way of "word of mouth" promotion, consumers who experience it directly will have an objective assessment. Up to now, the facility's salted chicken products, smoked ham, and sour sausage... have been widely welcomed by customers."

Through trade promotion activities, enterprises, cooperatives, and production units have been gradually expanding their production scale, innovating technology, equipment, and applying technical advances in production... However, there are still some enterprises that do not pay attention to promoting and building brands, making their products less competitive and unattractive to consumers. In addition, coordination between trade promotion organizations is still limited, and there are not many diverse, large-scale trade promotion programs.
