On November 15, Thanh Hoa province and Niigata province (Japan) co-chaired the conference to promote investment, trade and tourism in Thanh Hoa province in Japan in 2024.

On behalf of the leaders of Thanh Hoa province, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Lai The Nguyen warmly welcomed and respectfully thanked representatives of Japanese agencies, Niigata province and representatives of Japanese corporations, enterprises and partners attending the conference. He briefly introduced the strengths of geographical location, natural conditions, infrastructure, human resources, achievements and outstanding progress in socio-economic development of the province; at the same time, highlighted the results achieved in investment and business cooperation between Thanh Hoa and Japan.

Thanh Hoa province currently has nearly 38,000 enterprises and more than 2,350 direct investment projects of domestic and foreign enterprises. There are 173 valid foreign direct investment (FDI) projects, with a total registered investment capital of 14.99 billion USD; of which, Japan is the country with the most projects, with 21 projects, a total registered investment capital of about 6.053 billion USD, accounting for 40.4% of the province's total FDI capital.

Based on the analysis of the potential, development orientation and investment attraction policies of Thanh Hoa province, he hoped that Japanese enterprises in general and Niigata province enterprises in particular would pay attention to investing in the fields of processing and manufacturing industry, tourism; agriculture, healthcare, urbanization and infrastructure.

The Standing Deputy Secretary of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee emphasized: Thanh Hoa Province highly appreciates the prestige, role and importance of Japanese investors and enterprises in various fields and respectfully invites Japanese investors and enterprises to study investment in Thanh Hoa Province, especially in the above-mentioned priority fields. The leaders of Thanh Hoa Province commit to "always accompany and be a reliable and long-term partner of enterprises"; creating all favorable conditions for enterprises and investors in the process of implementing projects in the province to achieve the highest efficiency.

Niigata is a locality that has had a good relationship with Thanh Hoa province in recent years, especially the two sides signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between Thanh Hoa province and Niigata province in November 2023 to promote cooperation and exchange, maintain friendly relations, and at the same time implement cooperation in many fields.

In particular, the fact that Niigata and Thanh Hoa have many similarities in culture, people, and production and business fields will help businesses of the two provinces more easily access and exchange business cooperation and investment in the coming time.

Japanese businesses also asked many questions asking Thanh Hoa province to clarify the similarities between Thanh Hoa province and Niigata province in terms of culture, history, tradition, especially the potential for tourism development.

The questions of the enterprises were answered and clarified by the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Lai The Nguyen. He also hoped that the delegates and Japanese enterprises attending the conference would visit Thanh Hoa province to have a more comprehensive view of Thanh Hoa province and witness the success of Japanese enterprises that have invested and operated in Thanh Hoa province.

Appreciating the potential, advantages and remarkable developments of Thanh Hoa Province in recent years, the Governor of Niigata Prefecture also expressed his confidence in the opportunities and cooperative relations between the two sides in the coming time.

Respectfully sending greetings and best wishes from the provincial leaders to the Governor of Niigata province, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Lai The Nguyen wished for the relationship between the two provinces to become increasingly deeper and sustainable. Based on the similarities and strengths of the two sides, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee proposed that Niigata province cooperate with Thanh Hoa province in agricultural production, sports and human resources. Thereby, contributing to Thanh Hoa province in building green agriculture, organic agriculture, circular agriculture and sustainable development. Currently, the factory has produced smart agricultural machinery systems using robots for driving, and produced flying equipment in agricultural production.

Witnessing the technological innovation in the factory's production, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Lai The Nguyen hopes that agricultural machines manufactured using Kubuta's new technology will soon be available in Vietnam and Thanh Hoa province.
