On March 22, the Intensive Care Unit, Lang Son General Hospital was decorated more beautifully than usual because of a special wedding between two young people taking place right on the campus of the unit.
A small, cozy and loving wedding was held. There was a special groom, a special bride, young people in love, happily welcoming the happiest things.
Doctors from the Department of Intensive Care, Lang Son General Hospital congratulate the bride and groom.
Seven days before the wedding, the groom became a patient admitted to the Intensive Care Unit - Anti-Poisoning Department in a state of septic shock, pneumonia, progressive acute respiratory failure, multiple organ failure, blood pressure requiring high-dose vasopressors, mechanical ventilation support to protect the lungs, rapidly progressing liver and kidney failure.
There were times when the groom's parents stayed up all night quietly taking care of their child, and there were moments when the bride shed tears by her partner's bed.
Happiness filled the sickroom.
Then when the future groom had a seizure, was agitated, had unmeasurable blood pressure, and had prolonged anuria, it seemed like he would fail.
But with the patient's efforts, the encouragement of his loved ones, and the determination of the doctors and medical staff of the Intensive Care and Anti-Poison Department, the patient was removed from the ventilator, his organs recovered, and he regained consciousness, to the joy of his relatives and all the doctors.
Sharing with the patient's family, the doctors of the Intensive Care Department, after receiving approval from the leaders of Lang Son Provincial General Hospital, cleaned up the patient's treatment area, and added balloons and fresh flowers to the room.
At the treatment area, the young couple exchanged wedding rings in the presence of their parents and doctors.
The wedding was simple, without a celebration party, but the young couple received many blessings from medical staff and it will be a memory they will never forget.
Information from the Intensive Care Unit, Lang Son General Hospital said that the groom is conscious, can talk, and can be discharged in the next few days.
