The UPU International Letter Writing Competition has been organized by the Universal Postal Union since 1971. It is a useful playground for students from 9 to 15 years old, helping to develop writing skills and creative thinking.

In Vietnam, the competition has become a prestigious activity, attracting the participation of millions of students every year. The 2024 competition with the theme "Write a letter to future generations about the world you hope they will inherit" has officially ended.

However, recently, many fake fanpages of the contest on Facebook with false information aim to lure students and parents to participate with the purpose of appropriating personal information and property.

According to Vietnam Post Corporation, the official fanpage of the contest in Vietnam has only one address: “facebook.com/cuocthivietthuupuvietnam” and the activities on the page are managed by the Ministry of Information and Communications, the Ministry of Education and Training, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, the Young Pioneers and Children Newspapers, and Vietnam Post.

Therefore, the organizers recommend that parents and students should be vigilant, not follow requests from unofficial sites, not provide personal information, access strange links, or make payments without verifying the source. If you have been scammed, you should immediately report it to the nearest police station for support.
