The heat wave in the South will end after May 15. Many international meteorological forecasting centers monitoring the weather in the Asia- Pacific region also commented that meteorological data and models show that from mid-May, the frequency of rain in the South will gradually increase due to the southwest monsoon becoming stronger.

Meanwhile, in Hanoi and many places in the North such as Ha Giang, Cao Bang, Lang Son, Bac Giang... there were heavy showers after a hot day. In many places, people were excited when there was showers, the air quickly cooled down again.

According to meteorological experts, the rain in the North is due to a weak cold wave in the North compressing the low trough to the South, causing rain.

Previously, the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting predicted that rain would begin from the night of May 11 to May 12 in the North and North Central regions. However, according to meteorological experts, this forecast was inaccurate because the low pressure trough moved about a day later than forecast, so on May 12, the North and Central regions were still hot and sunny, and it would rain in the afternoon and evening of May 12.
