According to Bleeping Computer , the MMRat malware will take advantage of accessibility services on Android smartphones, thereby tricking victims into providing access to the device. Not stopping there, this malware can also automatically perform many nefarious activities on the victim's phone.

Once installed, the MMRat malware will immediately connect to a remote server controlled by the hacker. The malware will then silently monitor the device's activities to find out when the user is not using the smartphone.

At this point, hackers will remotely wake up the device, unlock it, and collect information such as network data, screen, contacts, battery, or message content. Hackers can even access banking applications to steal money from accounts.

Currently, MMRat malware is mainly used to attack Android smartphone users in Southeast Asia. Therefore, users need to be extremely vigilant and not install strange applications from third-party software stores.
