Tanker trucks driving in the wrong direction cause public outrage.
On October 27, the Northwest Traffic Police Station (under the Traffic Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City Police) said it had worked with the driver of a concrete mixer truck driving in the wrong direction in Cu Chi.
The concrete mixer truck driver drove in the wrong direction on the road, endangering people and vehicles.
Through verification, the Northwest Traffic Police Station identified the driver of the tanker truck as Mr. NVT (47 years old, from Long An province). Afterwards, the Traffic Police invited Mr. T. to the headquarters for questioning.
Here, Mr. T. admitted his violation. The Northwest Traffic Police Station drew up an administrative violation report against Mr. T. for driving in the wrong direction on a road with a "No Entry" sign. According to Decree 100/2019 amending and supplementing Decree 123/2021 ND-CP, Mr. T. will be fined from 4 to 6 million VND and have his driver's license revoked for 2 to 4 months.
On October 26, Mr. NTN (in Cu Chi district) filmed a clip recording the image of a cement mixer truck driving in the wrong direction on a road in Cu Chi district (intersection with Le Vinh Huy street, Cu Chi district).
According to Mr. N., at the time, he was driving to work when he saw a tanker truck running on Provincial Road 8. When reaching the intersection with Le Vinh Huy Street, the car suddenly went in the opposite direction in the lane from Binh Duong Province to Cu Chi Overpass. The tanker truck then drove into a nearby construction site.
Outraged by dangerous driving and disregard for the lives of other road users, Mr. N. posted the clip on social media.
