Fined 7.5 million VND for an individual for posting "Thai Nguyen has a rescue plane"

Previously, the Facebook account “Phan Giap” posted the content “Thai Nguyen has a rescue plane”, along with a video of the plane flying in the sky and set it to public.

Mr. PPTG's content sharing behavior violated the regulations on social network usage responsibilities, at Point a, Clause 1, Article 101, Decree No. 15/2020/ND-CP dated February 3, 2020 of the Government stipulating administrative sanctions in the fields of post, telecommunications, radio frequencies, information technology and electronic transactions.

At the meeting with the authorities, Mr. PPTG realized that his behavior was wrong, and that he had not fully understood the legal regulations when posting on social networks. Mr. PPTG promptly removed the post, committed to comply with the law, and verified the information when posting on social networks.

Previously, the Inspectorate of the Department of Information and Communications of Thai Nguyen issued a decision to administratively sanction 2 individuals, with a fine of 7.5 million VND/person, for posting distorted and untrue information, violating the provisions of the law on social networks related to floods in Thai Nguyen province.
