Tourism takes off in “destination cities”

Total global tourism revenue this year could reach more than 5,000 billion USD, an increase of more than 400 billion USD compared to last year. For many countries, this is a key economic sector, accounting for a large proportion of GDP and is playing a key role in the growth recovery plan after the Covid-19 pandemic. Therefore, plans to build new experiences and stimulate tourism are being widely implemented to achieve the goal of attracting tourists at the highest level.

For example, France, with its advantages in history, architecture, culture and service discount policy, last year, the "hexagonal country" welcomed 66.6 million international tourists, dethroning Spain in the ranking of the most visited country in 44 European countries.

For countries that do not have available resources in terms of landscape, environment, history or culture, the tourism industry's strategy to participate in the "race" also has its own path when focusing on building experiences.

Dubai is a real example. Dubai has built an image of an extremely luxurious and uniquely attractive destination with many "huge" constructions such as the Future Museum - a place to experience life in the future 50 years from now; the world's most luxurious hotel Burj Al Arab or the world's tallest building Burj Khalifa... These locations helped Dubai welcome more than 12 million tourists last year.

A successful model in the region is Singapore. This year, the Lion City is expected to welcome about 14 million tourists, more than double the number last year. This goal is completely achievable because the destinations in this country can bring thousands of different experiences, such as the famous iconic shopping complex Ion Orchard or the entertainment, recreation and resort complex Marina Bay Sands...

In Vietnam, the trend of creating "destination cities" focusing on customers' shopping - entertainment - resort experiences to attract tourists has also appeared, typically Ocean City (planned from 3 urban areas Vinhomes Ocean Park 1, 2, 3) with a scale of up to 1,200 hectares in the East of Hanoi. This is one of the factors that helped Hanoi win the title of "Asia's leading city" at the World Travel Awards 2022 - Region: Asia & Oceania held last year; at the same time, it is also the driving force to help the tourism industry achieve the goal of welcoming more than 8 million international visitors this year.

The outstanding attraction of “Ocean City”

Inheriting the perfect connection infrastructure, the east of Hanoi is gradually forming attractive destinations for tourists with a series of iconic works that have been invested in meticulously and systematically. Since the first miracle of "bringing the sea to the heart of Hanoi" in 2018, with the 6.1-hectare Crystal Lagoons saltwater lake and the 24.5-hectare Pearl Lake at Vinhomes Ocean Park, the "Vinhomes sea area" has continuously expanded with the presence of the Royal Wave Park artificial wave-creating sea park complex with a scale of 18 hectares at Vinhomes Ocean Park 2; and most recently, the Four Seasons Paradise Bay with an area of over 12 hectares is likened to a "true Maldives"...

The “wonders” in the east of the capital also include architectural complexes that converge the quintessence from all over the world. For example, the recently inaugurated City of Light Square in Vinhomes Ocean Park 2, imbued with the splendid Parisian style. Previously, VinUni University and the green and smart Technopark building in Vinhomes Ocean Park have also become symbols of the east of the capital and are the most favorite check-in locations for young people in Hanoi…

Just like Venice (Italy) is colorful thanks to the Carnival seasons, the new destination east of Hanoi is even more attractive with a series of festivals lasting all four seasons of the year. Accordingly, the 2023 summer festival series has just officially begun, lasting from now until the end of September, with a series of unique cultural and artistic programs, attracting tens of thousands of attendees each week. Last year, "blockbuster" events also set "records" in the number of guests, such as Summer Dream; Hello Summer; Summer Wave Park or Paradise Bay Fest...

The chain of resort and entertainment experiences will be extended thanks to the bustling commercial network that is being formed. The Mega Complex commercial complex will make visitors feel like they are checking in at famous coordinates such as The Metropolis Building (Edificio Metropolis, Madrid - Spain), Oxford Street (London - England) or Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II (Milan - Italy) ...

With international-class events to be held in the near future, along with outstanding amenities and services, the “destination city” Ocean City will be a must-see destination when coming to Hanoi for domestic and international tourists.
