Vietlott Lottery has new leader

In Decision No. 1016/QD-BTC dated May 19, 2023 of the Minister of Finance, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Dam was appointed to the position of Chairman of Vietnam Computerized Lottery Company (Vietlott). Mr. Nguyen Thanh Dam was born in 1974, graduated with a Bachelor's degree from the National Economics University and a Master's degree from the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies, Japan.

Mr. Dam has worked for more than 16 years at the Banking and Finance Department, under the Ministry of Finance (1996 - 2012). During that time, he was assigned to the position of Head of the Lottery and Prize Games Department. As soon as Vietlott was established, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Dam was assigned by the Ministry of Finance to work and hold the positions of Deputy General Director of the Company (2012 - 2018), General Director of the Company (2018 - May 2023).

Deputy Minister of Finance Nguyen Duc Chi presented the decision to appoint Mr. Nguyen Thanh Dam as Chairman of Vietnam Computerized Lottery Company.

The Ministry of Finance has also assigned Mr. Pham Ngoc Tu - Deputy General Director of the Company to be in charge of operating the Vietnam Computerized Lottery Company.

Previously, Mr. Le Van Hoan, Chairman of Vietlott, was transferred and appointed to hold the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietnam Development Bank for the 2021 - 2026 term.

In 2022, Vietlott achieved revenue of more than 6,272 billion VND; paid out more than 3,560 billion VND in lottery products to players nationwide; contributed more than 1,720 billion VND to local budgets, an increase of more than 400 billion VND compared to 2021.

By the end of 2022, Vietlott will have developed nearly 6,000 terminals nationwide. Revenue from the terminal channel will reach more than VND 5,333 billion, accounting for 85% of the Company's total revenue.

In 2023, Vietlott plans to dedicate most of its terminals to facilitate social policy beneficiaries (poor households; households with special difficulties; households of war invalids, sick soldiers, and those with revolutionary contributions; households affected by Agent Orange, etc.) to enable these beneficiaries to participate as Agents/Points of Sale to improve their income.
