(BGDT) - On the afternoon of July 11, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism (DTC) of Bac Giang held a conference to review the work of DTC in the first 6 months of 2023 and deploy tasks for the last 6 months of the year.
In the first 6 months of 2023, state management in all sectors of the industry was strengthened. Cultural and artistic activities were actively implemented in many diverse and rich forms, especially during the Bac Giang Provincial Culture - Tourism Week 2023.

High-performance sports continue to be maintained and developed. At the 32nd SEA Games, Bac Giang athletes contributed to the overall achievements of the Vietnamese sports delegation with a total of 7 medals, especially track and field athlete Nguyen Thi Oanh won 4 gold medals. Tourism development has received attention, the number of tourists to Bac Giang is estimated at 1.3 million, an increase of 44.4% over the same period. The movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" has had positive changes.
Promoting the achieved results, in the last 6 months of 2023, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will focus on a number of key tasks such as: Advising the Provincial People's Committee to submit to the Provincial People's Council a Resolution regulating policies to support People's Artisans and Meritorious Artisans in the field of intangible cultural heritage; submitting to the Provincial People's Committee to issue a Project to restore "The Path of Propagating Buddhism of the Buddhas of the Truc Lam Yen Tu Zen Sect"...
At the same time, coordinate with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the provinces: Quang Ninh, Hai Duong to advise the People's Committees of the three provinces in completing the scientific dossier "The Complex of Monuments and Landscapes of Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son, Kiep Bac" to submit to UNESCO for recognition as a world heritage. Urge and accelerate the implementation of items of the project to build the Tay Yen Tu (Son Dong) spiritual and ecological tourism area and projects to restore and embellish the relics in 2023.

At the conference, some delegates suggested that the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism advise the Provincial People's Council and People's Committee to consider and have specific policies and mechanisms in land management and use to develop community tourism.
Currently, community tourism in some districts such as Luc Ngan, Yen The, Luc Nam, Son Dong is developing and is popular with many people. However, according to current regulations, businesses, cooperatives, and households that want to do community tourism cannot invest in building items such as stilt houses, homestays (accommodation houses), swimming pools, miniature landscape models, tents on land for growing forestry trees, perennial trees, garden land, etc. to serve tourism.
Some opinions suggest that the organization of provincial competitions and contests should also consider the time and should not be organized too frequently, while currently the budget for activities in localities is limited.
Cai Rang Floating Market Cultural Tourism Festival (Festival) is an annual event organized by Cai Rang District People's Committee and Can Tho City Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in response to Vietnam Tourism Day (July 9), and is also an event that contributes to preserving and connecting the conservation of floating market cultural heritage. This year, the Festival has many new activities with many experiences.
