The National Exhibition Center Project is invested by Vietnam Exhibition Center Joint Stock Company (Vingroup holds 80% of shares); built in Dong Hoi and Xuan Canh communes, Dong Anh district, Hanoi, replacing the old Exhibition Center in Giang Vo.
The project has a total area of up to 90 hectares, is among the TOP largest exhibition centers in the world; possesses a super-connected location, convenient transportation; is expected to be an international destination for leading global trade events and exhibitions.
The center is invested and developed to promote the "Expo" economy following the urban model of Dubai Expo, Frankfurt - Germany, Fiera Milano - Italy,..., creating a favorable environment for domestic and foreign enterprises to have the opportunity to exchange, promote and promote trade, which is a favorable basis to promote production, business, and stimulate economic growth for the capital Hanoi.
The complex includes an indoor exhibition building with the image of the Golden Turtle God with 9 subdivisions with a total floor area of over 130,000m2, 4 outdoor exhibition parks with a total scale of up to 20.6ha, 2 small-scale indoor exhibition halls, a conference - wedding center, a class A office tower, a 5-star hotel expected to be managed by Marriott, and various auxiliary works...
The center's construction started on August 30, 2024, and is expected to be completed in July 2025 to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), after more than 10 months of construction. When completed, the center is expected to become a new symbol of the capital, a destination and highlight in architecture and fine arts, capable of organizing international and regional political, economic and cultural events.
Inspecting the project site, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh expressed his joy at witnessing the urgent and exciting construction atmosphere; after less than 2 months since the groundbreaking, the shape of the large-scale, modern Exhibition Center has gradually taken shape.
Relating the implementation of the Exhibition Center project to the recent implementation of the 500kV line 3 and Long Thanh International Airport, the Prime Minister emphasized that the above results show that the tradition, character and qualities of the Vietnamese people "nothing is impossible; determination, resoluteness, daring to think, daring to do, anything can be successful" are being promoted.
According to the Prime Minister, there must be a mechanism to mobilize resources, especially in implementing large-scale programs and projects, on the principle of harmonious benefits and shared risks; harmonizing interests between the State, people and enterprises; boldly assigning enterprises to undertake projects and works so that enterprises can gradually grow stronger; promoting the spirit of self-reliance and confidence.
The Prime Minister assessed that the National Exhibition and Fair Center is large-scale, modern, and located in a historical and cultural land, associated with the historical land of Co Loa, the hometown of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong. Considering this a multi-purpose project that includes economic, cultural, scientific, technological, tourism, and image promotion elements, the Prime Minister hopes that this complex will contribute to bringing this land of talented people to develop to its potential, strengths, and historical role.
The Prime Minister requested ministries, branches and Hanoi City to closely coordinate with Vingroup in implementing the project until its completion, putting the Center into operation; and organizing the good exploitation of the project to ensure efficiency for the State and enterprises.
In the immediate future, coordinate the implementation of the project to ensure progress, quality, techniques, and aesthetics in a modern direction, with close architecture and identity; ensure occupational safety and hygiene; take care of the lives of affected people...; strive to soon complete the project to celebrate the country's important events in 2025 and the 14th National Party Congress.
Agreeing with the policy of implementing the Tu Lien bridge project across the Red River connecting Tay Ho district to Dong Anh district, the Prime Minister requested that this project be implemented soon, while ensuring publicity, transparency, compliance with the law, and harmonizing the interests of the people, businesses, and the State.
Like the Exhibition Center, Tu Lien Bridge is not only a traffic project but also an iconic architectural work, beautifying the thousand-year-old cultural city of Hanoi.
