In her opening speech and introduction to the discussion at the forum, Ms. Giang Thi Mai, Member of the Central Executive Committee of the Youth Union, Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, emphasized: Youth are the masters of the era and the future of the country. Building a model youth value is not only of personal significance but also of historical and contemporary significance. Responding to the campaign "Building a model Vietnamese youth in the new era", in recent times, the Youth Union chapters at all levels in the province have focused on implementing it with many creative contents and methods. On the basis of the values: "Pure heart, bright mind, great ambition", the goals and tasks of the Youth Union work and the youth movement of the 14th Lao Cai Provincial Youth Union Congress, the Youth Union chapters at all levels in the province have implemented 4 criteria: having revolutionary ideals, pure morality, pioneering actions, and aspirations to rise up.
Another urgent issue today is to raise awareness and responsibility of Lao Cai youth in civilized behavior in cyberspace. Social networks have become an indispensable part of daily life, especially for young people. However, improper use of social networks can lead to negative consequences, such as spreading false information, verbal violence, and adversely affecting the spirit and health of young people. Therefore, building a model value for Lao Cai youth in the new era and implementing the Campaign "Civilized behavior in cyberspace" is the responsibility of the whole society. All levels of the Youth Union - Association - Team need to promote their pioneering and exemplary roles, joining hands to build a generation of Lao Cai youth with courage, intelligence and responsibility.
At the forum, delegates focused on discussing the topic "Building model values of Lao Cai youth in the new period - Responsibilities of Youth Union - Association - Team chapters in implementation". In particular, some effective and creative experiences and solutions are: emulating the implementation of the system of criteria for studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style of cadres, union members and youth at grassroots units; building an ideal model of Lao Cai police youth with 4 model value criteria and a special emulation movement of "3 moderate, 4 clear, 5 more"; the role of Bac Ha district youth in preserving national cultural identity associated with tourism development.
Also at the forum, delegates listened to a reporter from the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department discuss the topic "Civilized behavior in cyberspace - responsibilities and actions of Lao Cai youth".
Continuing to implement the campaign for civilized behavior in cyberspace, the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee focuses on a number of tasks: Propagating and raising awareness of cadres, union members and young people about civilized behavior in cyberspace; building and developing practical models and movements; promoting inspection and supervision work; supporting and encouraging young people to develop themselves.
The forum is a practical activity to orient the criteria of youth models suitable for union members and young people in the locality. Thereby creating a strong and profound change in cadres, union members and young people in terms of awareness of self-cultivation, training, study and work; improving revolutionary ethics, fighting against moral and lifestyle degradation; and strengthening the resistance of young people when using social networks.
