According to information from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, along with propaganda work, recently, with many funding sources, localities have built and arranged 3,500 tanks to store used pesticide packages in the fields.
Thereby, contributing to raising awareness for people in collecting used pesticide packaging into storage tanks to protect the environment. The amount of used pesticide packaging collected into storage tanks in the fields has been proactively coordinated by localities with competent units to handle according to hazardous waste procedures, the remaining few people burn in storage tanks.

Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Hong Phuong informed that in 2024, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development will continue to open training courses to guide farmers in the safe and effective use of plant protection drugs.
Coordinate with localities to guide the collection of used pesticide packaging in accordance with regulations. Build and install billboards to guide the safe and effective use of pesticides and chemical fertilizers; build sample tanks in districts, towns and cities in the province to raise awareness among people in environmental protection.
Organize inspections and checks on the use of pesticides and fertilizers according to the law, strictly handle violations in the use of pesticides and fertilizers at crop production facilities.
At the same time, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment is requested to advise the Provincial People's Committee to plan and build a storage area for pesticide packages collected by people in tanks in the fields; deploy the transportation of used pesticide packages belonging to the group of hazardous waste to places of destruction according to the provisions of law... Thereby contributing to solving the environmental pollution situation in localities in the coming time.
