Building and renovating 70 houses of solidarity on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital

Hanoi Association of Former Youth Volunteers held a rally to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024) and summarize the special emulation movement in 2024.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of the Hanoi City Association of Former Youth Volunteers Nguyen Van Dinh said that, implementing the policies of the Party, the State and Hanoi City, many activities towards the 70th anniversary of the Liberation Day of the Capital have been launched and implemented by the Hanoi City Association of Former Youth Volunteers, including the special emulation movement "Former Youth Volunteers of the Capital - the journey to follow Uncle Ho's teachings".

The competition will take place from July 2023 to October 2024, with the following contents: saving 1,000 VND/day to contribute to the fund to build houses of solidarity for members with difficult housing conditions; reviewing the construction, renovation and repair of 70 houses that do not ensure the quality of life of former Youth Volunteers in the city; mobilizing the Chairmen of the Association at the grassroots level to compete to achieve achievements to be worthy of the title of good leader according to the Association's standards, celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital.

The special emulation movement contents have received the response of tens of thousands of former Youth Volunteers in the Capital and achieved many encouraging results.

Implementing support for building charity houses for families of former youth volunteers

Reporting on the summary of the special emulation movement, Vice President of the Hanoi City Association of Former Youth Volunteers Le Tuan Hung said: after 3 stages of the campaign, the special emulation movement has collected a total amount of more than 1.2 billion VND, not including contributions from organizations and businesses. Since 2023, the Association of Former Youth Volunteers in districts, towns and cities has supported the construction of dozens of charity houses for families of former Youth Volunteers with difficult housing circumstances.

Representative of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Veterans Association awarded Certificates of Merit to collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements.

In 2024, the City Council directed the continued implementation of new construction, renovation and repair according to the list of proposals from the grassroots, which is 45 cases. Currently, the Program Steering Committee continues to direct the final implementation to ensure that 100% of the total number of subjects are resolved, completing the set goal.

Through the emulation movement, there have been some Association bases that have implemented well and very well. The emulation movement of the Association of Former Youth Volunteers has been highly promoted and spread in the community...

At the program, the City's Association of Former Youth Volunteers honored 28 groups and 15 individuals with outstanding achievements in the special emulation movement.

To recognize the achievements in the special emulation campaign of the Capital's Former Youth Volunteers, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Former Youth Volunteers Association awarded Certificates of Merit to 13 groups and 11 individuals.
