Previously, a Facebook account posted the content of “disastrous travel experience, leaving guests on Titop Island and then leaving without checking on them, no missed calls, waiting 30 minutes at the dock but no boat, calling the phone number on the bracelet but the subscriber was unavailable…”. Quang Ninh province authorities are continuing to clarify this incident.
According to initial information, on June 16, the QN 926x ship carried 99 passengers (not group passengers) to Ti-top Island. When picking up passengers back to the ship, due to the large number of passengers at that time, the ship could not find any passengers, could not pick up passengers back to the ship, so the ship turned back. Immediately after that, the shipping company arranged another vehicle (of the same unit) to pick up the remaining passengers later. However, the information about the abandoned passengers was not reported to the Inland Waterways Port Authority on duty at the port. The Ha Long Bay Management Board also confirmed that it had not received any feedback from tourists about the incident. The incident was only verified after the information was posted on social media.
Immediately after receiving the information, the ship owner's representative and the captain contacted the passengers who reported being "abandoned". The ship owner has now received information about the incident, continues to clarify the responsibilities of the individuals involved, and draws lessons in serving tourists visiting the bay safely and thoughtfully, to prevent the above situation from recurring.
