Yen Son commune announced to meet advanced new rural standards

On the morning of March 5, Yen Son commune (Tam Diep city) held a ceremony to announce the commune meeting advanced new rural standards in 2023.

Attending the event were comrade Tran Song Tung, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of a number of provincial departments, branches and sectors; and leaders of Tam Diep city.

Determining that building a new rural area is a regular and continuous task, after achieving the new rural area standard in 2017, Yen Son commune has continued to focus all resources; promoting the spirit of solidarity, determined to improve the quality of new rural area criteria. Twinning army units, businesses and a large number of people in the commune have contributed more than 6,000 working days, nearly 5 billion VND in cash, thousands of square meters of land in building the new rural area. Many roads have been widened, murals painted, trees planted, lighting systems installed, security cameras...

Schools, medical stations, and cultural houses in the area have been renovated, upgraded, and newly built to meet the needs of people for studying, medical examination, treatment, and daily activities.

Identifying economic development as a lever to build the remaining criteria, the commune has effectively implemented mechanisms and policies to restructure the agricultural sector. Mobilizing people to renovate mixed gardens, expand family farm and ranch models; converting ineffective rice land to aquaculture, while linking production with product processing and consumption.

Tam Diep city leaders presented flowers to congratulate Yen Son commune at the announcement ceremony.

Currently, the whole commune has 10 products certified as OCOP products. The average income in the area in 2023 will reach 68 million VND/person/year, the poverty rate will decrease to 0.7%. The commune has 4/10 villages recognized as meeting the standards of a model new-style rural residential area. The rate of people's satisfaction with the results of building advanced new-style rural areas is 99.51%.

With the achieved results, Yen Son commune was recognized by the Provincial People's Committee as an advanced NTM commune in 2023.

At the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Song Tung presented congratulatory flowers and awarded the Certificate of recognition of the commune meeting advanced NTM standards in 2023 to Yen Son commune.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Song Tung awarded certificates of merit from the Provincial People's Committee to collectives and individuals with achievements in the new rural construction movement.

On this occasion, many collectives and individuals of the commune were commended by all levels and sectors for their outstanding achievements in the movement to build new rural areas.
