Fostering the special traditional friendship between Russia and Vietnam

On the afternoon of September 10 (local time), in Moscow, continuing his official visit to the Russian Federation, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man received representatives of the Russia-Vietnam Friendship Association and the Association of Russian Veterans who fought in Vietnam.

Speaking at the reception, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man expressed his joy and emotion when meeting again close friends who love and are attached to Vietnam and veterans who did not fear difficulties and hardships, and were willing to sacrifice their lives to help Vietnam in the past struggle for national liberation and protection of the Fatherland.

At the meeting, representatives of the Vietnam-Russia Friendship Association and the Russian Veterans Association expressed their joy and appreciation for the official visit to the Russian Federation by National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and the high-ranking delegation of the Vietnamese National Assembly; believing that the visit will contribute practically to fostering the special traditional friendship between the Russian Federation and the Russian Federation. Representatives of the two associations also shared with the National Assembly Chairman their fond feelings and unforgettable memories during their time as experts, standing shoulder to shoulder with Vietnamese friends in the past struggle for national independence, and affirmed that they always consider Vietnam as their country and homeland.

Representatives of the two associations also shared activities to strengthen the friendship between the people of the two countries, such as the association organizing painting contests about the country and people of Vietnam and the Russian Federation; providing information to Russian people about the situation in Vietnam; supporting Vietnamese students, enterprises and localities in the process of studying, investing, doing business as well as cooperating with localities of Russia.

To strengthen the friendship between the people of the two countries, representatives of the two associations proposed that the Vietnamese side consider building a monument to commemorate Soviet experts who fought and helped Vietnam in the past struggle for national independence; and build a cultural center. Russia-Vietnam in Moscow to organize Vietnamese language teaching and cultural and people-to-people exchange activities between the two countries; have more practical activities to educate the young generation of the two countries to understand more deeply the special solidarity and friendship between Russia and Vietnam, thereby inheriting and promoting the achievements, continuing the fine traditions of previous generations who built the great solidarity and friendship between Russia and Vietnam...

The representative of the Russia-Vietnam Friendship Association also affirmed that although the world has many changes and unpredictable developments, the friendship and brotherhood between the Russian and Vietnamese people will never change.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man affirmed: The Party, State and people of Vietnam are forever grateful for the valuable support and wholehearted assistance that the Russian people have given Vietnam in the past struggle for national independence and reunification and in the cause of national construction and development today.

Through listening to the report, it is known that the Russia-Vietnam Friendship Association and the Russian Veterans Association in Vietnam have been enthusiastically operating in recent times, contributing to fostering friendship and cooperation between the two countries, and actively contributing to supporting the Vietnamese community in Russia.

Highly appreciating the role and efforts of the association, on behalf of the leaders of the Party, State and people of Vietnam, the National Assembly Chairman sincerely thanked the Russia-Vietnam Friendship Association and the Russian Veterans Association in Vietnam for their contributions to the development of traditional friendship and Vietnam-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership.

The National Assembly Chairman pointed out that in Vietnam today, there are still works that were built with both material and spiritual support from Russian friends, such as President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum, the Vietnam-Soviet Friendship Palace, the Hoa Binh Hydroelectric Plant, Thang Long Bridge, etc.

In the coming time, the National Assembly Chairman hopes that the two sides will strengthen cooperation, jointly build more works, and carry out more cooperation projects, commensurate with the Vietnam-Russia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

Regarding the meaningful proposals and recommendations of the representatives of the two associations, the National Assembly Chairman pointed out that in 2009, Vietnam inaugurated the Soviet/Russian-Vietnamese Soldiers Memorial in Cam Ranh (Khanh Hoa), marking the noble international relationship between the Vietnam People's Army and the Soviet Army, now the Russian Federation.

At the same time, thank the Russian Federation for inaugurating the Monument to Vietnamese International Volunteers who participated in the fight to protect the capital Moscow during the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945) in August 2024, contributing to strengthening cooperation and tightening friendship between the two countries.

On this occasion, the National Assembly Chairman thanked the Russia-Vietnam Friendship Association, the Russian Veterans Association in Vietnam and the Chairman himself for always helping and supporting the Vietnamese community in the Russian Federation to stabilize their lives and integrate into the host society.

To promote the role and participation of the Friendship Association and the Veterans Association in enhancing cooperation between the two countries, the National Assembly Chairman suggested that the two associations continue to closely coordinate with the Vietnamese Embassy in the Russian Federation - the diplomatic representative agency of the State of Vietnam, as well as the Vietnam-Russia Friendship Association - the focal point for people-to-people diplomacy of Vietnam.

The National Assembly Chairman believes that with their deep attachment to Vietnam and enthusiasm, members of the two associations will continue to support and actively and effectively contribute to the stronger development of the Vietnam-Russian Federation cooperation relationship in the coming time, contributing to consolidating and enhancing the special solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and Russia.
