NDO - This afternoon, August 22, at the National Assembly House, receiving the Lao Peace and Solidarity Committee delegation led by Vice Chairman of the National Assembly of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, Chairman of the Lao Peace and Solidarity Committee Sommad Pholsena, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man affirmed: Vietnam will continue to actively support and assist Laos in successfully assuming important international roles in 2024 such as ASEAN/AIPA Chair 2024, Chairman of the 45th AIPA General Assembly.

Stating that the Vietnamese National Assembly is ready to exchange operational experiences with the Lao National Assembly, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man suggested that the two National Assemblies increase the exchange of delegations at all levels and high-level delegations in the coming time; the Vietnam Peace Committee and the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations increase information exchange and cooperation. On this occasion, mentioning the recent State visit to Laos by Comrade To Lam right after being elected by the National Assembly as President, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man affirmed: That demonstrates Vietnam's consistent policy of always giving priority to consolidating and nurturing the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos. The National Assembly Chairman was pleased to know that the delegation of the Lao Peace and Solidarity Committee had a very successful meeting and working session with the Vietnam Peace Committee and the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations. At the meeting, expressing sincere thanks to National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man for taking the time to receive the delegation, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, Chairman of the Lao Peace and Solidarity Committee respectfully conveyed the greetings and best wishes of Lao National Assembly Chairman Saysomphone Phomvihane to National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man; and respectfully congratulated Comrade Tran Thanh Man on being elected by the National Assembly with high confidence to hold the position of National Assembly Chairman. Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, Chairman of the Lao Peace and Solidarity Committee expressed his belief that under the wise and decisive leadership of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, the Vietnamese National Assembly will achieve even greater victories in the coming time. Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, Chairman of the Lao Peace and Solidarity Committee said that the delegation had a very successful meeting and working session with the Vietnam Peace Committee and the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations. The two sides discussed and agreed on 6 contents to continue to strengthen cooperative relations in the coming time. The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly and Chairman of the Lao Peace and Solidarity Committee congratulated the Vietnamese National Assembly on its many achievements in recent times, making many important decisions, contributing to improving the lives of the Vietnamese people; especially the role, position and prestige of Vietnam have been constantly enhanced in the region and in the international arena with the strong imprint of the "diplomacy with Vietnamese bamboo identity" school. The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly and Chairman of the Lao Peace and Solidarity Committee also informed the Chairman of the National Assembly about the implementation of socio-economic development tasks in Laos. In particular, the Lao National Assembly has deployed and applied many lessons learned from the Vietnamese National Assembly in performing its assigned functions and tasks. Recently, within the framework of his working visit to Laos, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Khac Dinh attended and chaired the Workshop on experience in amending the Constitution and legislative research organized by the Vietnamese and Lao National Assembly; Vietnam shared and assisted the Lao National Assembly in the process of amending the Constitution. The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly and Chairman of the Lao Peace and Solidarity Committee affirmed that the Lao National Assembly will continue to cooperate and closely accompany the Vietnamese National Assembly in implementing the cooperation agreements signed between the two countries, especially the cooperation agreement signed during the recent visit to Laos by President To Lam; at the same time, he expressed his hope that Vietnam, especially the Vietnamese National Assembly, will continue to strengthen cooperation and assist Laos in the process of assuming the role of ASEAN/AIPA Chair 2024.![]() |

The National Assembly Chairman agreed with the proposals of the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, Chairman of the Lao Peace and Solidarity Committee; and at the same time, he stated that although the world and regional situation has many complex and unpredictable changes, the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, two States and peoples of the two countries in recent times has continued to develop well, increasingly in-depth, practical and effective in all fields. Political and diplomatic relations have increasingly deepened, continued to develop well, closely and trustingly. Along with the cooperative relationship between the two Parties, Governments and National Assemblies of the two countries, people-to-people exchanges and the solidarity, solidarity and friendship between the peoples of the two countries are a solid foundation for the development of Vietnam and Laos. In the context of the rapid, complicated and unpredictable developments in the world and region, the National Assembly Chairman suggested that the people's organizations of the two countries, the core of which is the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations and the Vietnam Peace Committee, increase the exchange of operational experiences and coordinate more closely with the Lao Peace and Solidarity Committee. The two sides are interested in organizing many political and ideological education activities, especially for the younger generation, about the history, traditions, great friendship and solidarity, especially between the two countries. The two sides continue to closely coordinate and support each other at multilateral mechanisms and people's forums in the region and the world, enhance information exchange between the two agencies, expand cooperation, innovate methods of organizing new cooperation activities in many fields, and make substantial contributions to the development of Vietnam and Laos in general. The National Assembly Chairman believes that in the coming time, the cooperation between the two countries in general and between the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations and its member organizations and Lao people's organizations in particular will achieve more success, thereby consolidating and deepening the special solidarity relationship "unique" in the world between Vietnam and Laos.
