Yonhap News reported that Lee Kang-in's agent denied that his client punched Son Heung-min. Yesterday (February 14), the Paris Saint-Germain striker posted an apology on social media. However, Lee Kang-in's agent explained that it was not an apology for any specific action.
" The story is not like the media reported. Everything is being spread and copied as if it were true. The story of him punching Son Heung-min in the face when Son grabbed Lee by the neck is not true ," Lee Kang-in's representative said.
The person further explained, " Lee Kang-in regrets his mistake and is reflecting. Since he was at the center of the conflict, I think it's right for him to apologize instead of going into detail ."

Earlier, Yonhap News reported that a conflict had occurred between Son Heung-min and Lee Kang-in right before the Asian Cup semi-final. During dinner before the match against Jordan, some players including Lee Kang-in, Seol Young-woo, Jung Woo-young ate quickly, then left to play table tennis.
When he heard Lee Kang-in and his friends making noise, Son Heung-min went over to warn them but only received a challenging attitude from Lee Kang-in. Son grabbed Lee by the neck and was then punched by the PSG player. The captain dodged. Others rushed in to stop him. Son later dislocated his finger.
After the incident, a group of prominent players, not including Son Heung-min, asked coach Jurgen Klinsmann to remove Lee Kang-in from the semi-final match, but the coach refused, allowing Lee to play the full 90 minutes.
