The return match between Thailand and South Korea will take place at Rajamangala Stadium, which has a capacity of over 50,000 seats. The Football Association of Thailand (FAT) announced that it would start selling tickets online from March 9 and will continue to sell tickets traditionally, in front of the FAT headquarters if there are any remaining tickets. However, just one day after going on sale, all tickets to watch the return match live were sold out.
According to Siamsport , this result comes from the fact that the Thai team is having positive results under coach Masatada Ishii. The "War Elephants" have passed the group stage of the 2023 Asian Cup and shown beautiful football, as expected by home fans. Not only that, since Madam Pang (also known as Nualphan Lamsam) was elected president of FAT, Thai fans' confidence in the team is very high. After FAT announced the opening of online ticket sales, Madam Pang herself called on fans to come to the stadium to "fuel" the Thai team.
Thai Ticket Major - the official ticketing agency of FAT announced that more than 50,000 tickets were sold out on March 10. However, after the 1-1 draw between Thailand and South Korea (March 21), the "ticket fever" continued in Thailand. Fans of the "War Elephants" waited for hours in front of FAT headquarters in the hope of owning a ticket to watch the match live, even though the place was not open for ticket sales.
Seizing this opportunity, the “black market tickets” in Thailand have begun to operate. According to Siamsport, to own a ticket to the stadium, fans in this country will have to pay 10 times the previous ticket price. However, most fans are satisfied and willing to pay to watch the upcoming match.
Siamsport wrote: “Thai Ticket Major has sold out tickets at prices of 165, 295, 395, 560, 700 and 750 baht (equivalent to VND 120,000 to VND 510,000) respectively. But recently, there has been a public football ticket selling group on Facebook, with about 7,000 members, pushing the price 10 times higher.
Each ticket now costs around 2,000 baht to 2,500 baht (more than 1.3 million to 1.7 million VND) but getting a ticket is almost impossible.
It is expected that on the day of the match, there will certainly continue to be more expensive tickets released. It could be 20 or 30 times higher than the ticket price that Thai Ticket Major has issued. However, perhaps the passion and belief of our team is now too great. We have conducted many surveys and they said they are willing to pay a large amount of money to enter the stadium to watch the match live.
In the first leg (March 21), the Thai team drew 1-1 on the Korean field and rose to second place in Group C with 4 points. The Thai team has 4 points, equal to China but has a better goal difference (Thai team has a goal difference of +1, China has a goal difference of -2). Just a few hours after the first leg ended, the Thai team rushed back home to prepare for the second leg.
On March 22, the "War Elephants" completed two training sessions and all the players were determined to create a surprise against the Korean team. Coach Masatada Ishii confidently said: "The next match will take place at home, we will bring a completely different performance. The Thai team has the support of home fans, that is a great motivation. What I am thinking now is that Thailand must win against Korea. We put all our efforts into this match and do not think about any other problems."
