Nguyen Hoang Yen Nhi, an excellent billiards player of Vietnam, has decided to move to compete in the PBA tournament system of Korea. It is known that the player born in 1999 left Vietnam on November 28 and is now in the land of kimchi. Yen Nhi will only have 1 day to prepare before playing her first match in the LBPA tournament (a billiards tournament reserved for female players, under the PBA system).
Yen Nhi is the number 1 female billiard player in Vietnam.
On December 1, Nguyen Hoang Yen Nhi will officially embark on a journey to conquer a new challenge in Korea. The first opponent that the Vietnamese player will face is Jeong Da-hye. Jeong Da-hye has 4 years of experience competing on the LPBA Tour. Jeong Da-hye's best achievement is reaching the quarter-finals twice. This season, Jeong Da-hye's best achievement is reaching the round of 16 of tour 2.
In the LPBA first qualifying round, second qualifying round and round of 64, female players will compete in a knockout, long match. Accordingly, each match will touch 25 points in a maximum of 50 minutes, with equal turns. If the match ends in a draw, the 2 highest score series (HR1, HR2) of each player will be counted to find the overall winner.
From round 32 onwards, new matches will be played in a round-robin format (characteristic of the PBA tournament system).
Jeong Da-hye's best achievement is reaching the LPBA Tour quarterfinals twice.
Before going to Korea to compete, Yen Nhi shared: "From now until the end of 2024, there are only 2 rounds left. For now, I will try my hand at these 2 rounds. Currently, I have only signed a contract to compete in the PBA, but have not signed an official contract with the PBA. I will evaluate the suitability of the PBA environment for myself, as well as other factors... and then make the next decision."
Yen Nhi is the second Vietnamese female player to appear in a Korean tournament, after Nguyen Le Lien Quynh (who competed unsuccessfully). As for Vietnamese 3-cushion carom billiards in general, many male players have affirmed themselves in PBA such as Ma Minh Cam, Ngo Dinh Nai, Nguyen Quoc Nguyen, Nguyen Huynh Phuong Linh.
