Hundreds of dairy cows died: Navetco's lumpy skin disease vaccine was injected for the first time in Lam Dong

Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee said that the lumpy skin disease vaccine Navet-Lpvac of the Central Veterinary Medicine Joint Stock Company (Navetco) was used for the first time on dairy cows in Lam Dong.

On August 14, Mr. Hoang Sy Bich - Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Lam Dong province - said that the locality is rescuing the herd. Dairy cows with diarrhea after being vaccinated against lumpy skin disease by Navetco Central Veterinary Medicine Joint Stock Company. Initially, the treatment of diarrhea in dairy cows was effective.

According to the department, the whole province has more than 5,000 cows with diarrhea and bleeding through the anus...

About 300 of them died, concentrated in the largest dairy farming area. Lam Dong are Duc Trong and Don Duong districts.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development determined that the occurrence of diarrhea in dairy cows was related to the injection of Navet-Lpvac lumpy skin disease vaccine by Joint Stock Company. Central Veterinary Medicine (Navetco). This is the first time this vaccine has been used on cattle in Lam Dong.

The Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Lam Dong province to organize the procurement of Navet-Lpvac lumpy skin disease vaccine through bidding.

A consortium of 5 contractors won the bid to supply 8 types of goods (6 types of vaccines, 2 types of chemicals), including Navet-Lpvac lumpy skin disease vaccine.

According to Mr. Bich, up to now, almost all livestock specialists of Lam Dong province are present in the areas where cows are infected with the disease to handle and control the consequences. A large amount of detoxifying chemicals and drugs to increase resistance for the cows have been transferred to the areas where cows are infected.

Mr. Bich emphasized that there is a permanent force in the area where there are sick cows to treat and strictly control the situation of "selling", transporting and slaughtering sick cows.
