On October 9, Mr. Tran Binh Trong, Chairman of the People's Committee of Quynh Hung Commune, Quynh Luu District, Nghe An Province, said that the locality has coordinated with Quynh Luu District and the auction company to re-auction 23 land lots that the younger brother of the Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of this district won the auction in 2023.
The 23 plots of land mentioned above are located in Dong Quan area, Quynh Hung commune, with a total area of over 4,600m2. The auction result of these 23 plots of land was over 43 billion VND.
"Of the 23 re-auctioned plots, only 5 local people won, the rest were from other districts and communes. Up to this point, the amount of money that the auction winners have paid for the new plots is more than 20 billion VND," said Mr. Trong.

Previously, on June 20, 2023, at the hall of the People's Committee of Quynh Hung commune (Quynh Luu district), an auction of 56 land lots in Dong Quan area, hamlet 5, Quynh Hung commune took place. This land has a total area of 11,467m2. The starting price for the auction was 59.7 billion VND.
312 people participated in the auction and 100% of the land lots were successfully auctioned with a total winning bid of more than 85 billion VND, a difference compared to the starting price of nearly 26 billion VND.
After the auction ended, public opinion was abuzz about Mr. Nguyen Van Trong (accountant of Quynh Ba commune, Quynh Luu district) winning 23 land lots worth more than 30 billion VND. It is worth mentioning that Mr. Nguyen Van Trong is the younger brother of Mr. Nguyen Van Quy - Vice Chairman of Quynh Luu district People's Committee, the person who approved the starting price.
On June 28, 2023, the Quynh Luu district land use rights auction supervision team verified and identified Mr. Nguyen Van Trong as the younger brother of the person who signed the decision approving the starting price of the land lots.
On July 3, 2023, the People's Committee of Quynh Luu district held a meeting and announced the conclusion that the auction of land lots in Quynh Hung commune took place objectively, in accordance with procedures.

However, due to the subjective auctioneer and auction supervision team not checking and carefully reviewing the customer's qualifications when participating in the auction, Mr. Nguyen Van Trong was not qualified to participate in the auction.
Afterwards, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Quynh Luu district did not recognize the auction results for the 23 land lots mentioned above, and at the same time reported and clearly explained the responsibilities in the process of implementing the auction process and procedures for the errors that occurred.
The Standing Committee of Quynh Luu District Party Committee has concluded and assigned the District People's Committee to direct the People's Committee of Quynh Ba Commune to organize a review of Mr. Trong to handle related issues in accordance with Party regulations and State laws. Mr. Trong was disciplined, criticized and learned from experience.
