Fireworks and dancing in the middle of the highway: 5 more people detained

(Dan Tri) - Tien Giang Province Police have just detained five suspects involved in the incident of setting off fireworks, dancing, and taking photos in the middle of Highway 1. Up to this point, the police have tracked down 11 people involved in the incident.

Regarding the case of a group of people lighting fireworks and dancing in the middle of the national highway, on January 14, Tien Giang Provincial Police temporarily detained 5 more subjects including: Le Vu Luan (born 1996), Dang Nguyen Nhat Quang (born 2000), Nguyen Chi Thanh (born 1996), Luong Quoc Duy (born 2001) and Nguyen Quoc Thang (born 1996) to clarify and handle the act of disturbing public order.

Previously, Tien Giang Provincial Police temporarily detained 6 subjects including Tran Anh Dung (born in 1989), Nguyen Khanh Duy (born in 2003), Tran Mai Truong An (born in 1990), Pham Tan Phat (born in 1997), Pham Van Cuong (born in 1983) and Le Thanh Khoa (born in 1990) to clarify the act of disturbing public order, and at the same time prosecuted subjects related to the incident.

Up to this point, Tien Giang Provincial Police have detained 11 suspects related to the above incident.

According to the police, at 6:00 p.m. on January 9, Le Thanh K. held a birthday party at K.'s pho restaurant on National Highway 1, through Nhi My ward, Cai Lay town.

K. invited more than 100 people to the party, there was a large sound system for everyone to sing and dance.

At 10 p.m. the same day, Tran Anh Dung took 5 boxes of fireworks and set them off on the median strip of National Highway 1 to add to the fun of the party. When the fireworks exploded, about 20 people ran out onto the street to dance, film, and take pictures.

As soon as receiving the news, the police force quickly arrived and dispersed the gathered crowd.

During questioning, Tran Anh Dung stated that the fireworks were given to him by a friend in Cambodia.

The case is being clarified and handled by the authorities according to the law.
