Faced with the enormous damage caused by storm No. 3 to provinces from Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, ... to now the great floods in the northern mountainous provinces, with the responsibility of a state-owned enterprise to the community, VNPT Group has decided to deploy a special support package for people and customers affected by storms and floods with a total value of 50 billion VND,   including 25 billion VND in kind   ( by VNPT employees each contributing one day's salary and from VNPT's Social Policy Fund)   and 25 billion VND are services VNPT provides to support people in flood areas.

VNPT launched a campaign for each employee to contribute one day's salary.

With the spirit of speed, VNPT aims to deploy this support package to the people within 10 days with the most practical forms of support to help local people quickly stabilize their lives. As a key enterprise providing telecommunications - IT infrastructure, with a nationwide network infrastructure, VNPT is also one of the enterprises that suffered heavy losses in storms and floods. However, to maintain communication for the people and serve the authorities at all levels in the management work when natural disasters and storms and floods occur, VNPT has mobilized 100% of its human resources in areas affected by storms, flash floods/landslides to always be on standby to respond and handle incidents.

Overcoming the storm with great effort, on the afternoon of September 11, 2024, VNPT restored the public telecommunications network in Bach Long Vy island district - the first place to welcome storm No. 3.

During the most difficult time of Typhoon Yagi, VNPT still basically ensured communication for the government and people . During the past days, almost all of VNPT's employees have been working hard to cope with the storm and floods. Thousands of VNPT employees in other provinces/cities are being sent to the affected areas to join hands in the rescue and quickly restore the network to serve the people and the government. In localities where the telecommunications network in general was severely damaged by Typhoon No. 3, VNPT has also shared the network with other telecommunications companies. Up to now, nearly 550,000 mobile subscribers of other networks have used the VinaPhone network to maintain communication, and during peak hours, the VinaPhone network in the storm and flood areas has simultaneously served nearly 300,000 mobile subscribers of other networks.

VNPT's employees are still working hard to restore the network as soon as possible.

Hundreds of VNPT transaction points have supported the provision of electricity to charge phones for customers, and have been open to serve and provide services from 7am to 10pm-11pm every day (and until all customers are gone) to support people. VNPT has also quickly implemented a policy to support VinaPhone mobile packages and reduce fiber optic internet subscription fees to share difficulties with customers in 16 northern provinces/cities directly affected by storm No. 3 and flash floods/landslides. Up to now, more than 3.6 million VinaPhone subscribers have been supported with packages (including 100 minutes of domestic calls & 15Gb of Data) and nearly 600,000 fiber optic internet subscribers have been supported with subscription fees.

With the spirit of "overcoming storms and floods", VNPT Group has mobilized all possible resources, contributing both money and effort, and the products and services that the Group is providing with the hope and belief that, with the solidarity of the whole country, people in flood-hit areas will soon overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives.
