On the evening of October 27, the Central Youth Union coordinated with the Ministry of Science and Technology to organize a ceremony to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Golden Globe Science and Technology Award, and to honor 10 young scientists who won this award in 2023. Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan attended.
Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan and First Secretary of the Central Youth Union Bui Quang Huy presented the 2023 Golden Globe Science and Technology Awards. |
Speaking at the ceremony, emphasizing the importance of a high-quality workforce for the country's future, the Vice President asked the Central Youth Union and the Ministry of Science and Technology to continue researching, reviewing, and proposing to the Party and State solutions to perfect the policy system, attract and promote domestic and foreign talents, and create conditions for good and excellent students to have the opportunity to promote their abilities and make the best contributions to the country.
After 20 years of organization, the Golden Globe Science and Technology Awards have honored 204 outstanding individuals in 5 fields: information technology, digital transformation and automation, medical and pharmaceutical technology, biotechnology, environmental technology and new materials technology.
Many scientific works of the Golden Globe winners are valuable and have practical applications in solving urgent problems of social life, affirming the position of Vietnamese science and technology in the international arena.
Among the 10 faces receiving awards this year, many individuals have patents, useful solutions, many high-quality international publications in category Q1, many domestic and international awards and medals.
Also at the ceremony, the Vietnam Female Science and Technology Student Award was presented to 20 outstanding female students, representing examples of studying, researching and training of female students across the country.
List of 10 young scientists winning the Golden Globe award:
1. Dr. Trinh Van Chien , 34 years old (School of Information and Communication Technology, Hanoi University of Science and Technology), with research examining the integration of multiple antenna technology in non-cellular networks and smart reflecting surfaces under the influence of spatial correlation between scattering elements.
2. Dr. Pham Huy Hieu, 31 years old (VinUni University) with the research "VAIPE system to monitor and support smart healthcare for Vietnamese people".
3. Dr. Nguyen Trong Nghia, 33 years old (University of Adelaide, South Australia), researched and developed a type of antenna that can be simultaneously reconfigured with different parameters, widely applied in many types of multi-functional antennas that need to flexibly adjust frequency and polarization.
4. Dr. Ngo Quoc Duy, 34 years old (K Hospital), researched and developed the technique of endoscopic thyroidectomy through the oral vestibule through the application of the technique in lateral neck lymph node dissection to treat thyroid cancer.
5. Dr. Ha Thi Thanh Huong, 34 years old (Ho Chi Minh City National University), researched Brain Analytics software, which analyzes MRI images of patients' brains and diagnoses Alzheimer's disease accurately, automatically, and quickly. It has been trained and tested on the ADNI database (USA) with an accuracy of about 96%.
6. Dr. Trinh Hoang Kim Tu , 35 years old (University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Ho Chi Minh City), with the research "Survey of cell techniques in diagnosing seafood allergies".
7. Dr. Le Dinh Anh, 34 years old (Hanoi National University), with research on improved blade profiles to increase torque and aerodynamic power for Savonius wind turbines by 5.5% at low wind speeds and up to 185% at high speed ranges of ~1.5.
8. Dr. Ngo Ngoc Hai, 32 years old (Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology), with research assessing the impact of climate change on animals in general and reptiles in particular, based on predictive algorithm models.
9. MSc. Nguyen Ho Thuy Linh , 33 years old (Ho Chi Minh City National University), with a meaningful research work in the field of new materials science when studying the catalytic ability of Zr and Hf-MOF in the synthesis reaction of 2-arylbenzoxazole.
10. Associate Professor, Dr. Huynh Trong Phuoc, 35 years old (Can Tho University), with his research on solutions to effectively utilize large amounts of sludge from water treatment plants and thermal power fly ash to produce controlled low-strength materials (CLSM), with the orientation of application in land leveling to replace the currently scarce source of sand for filling.
