Fold the milk carton, open green consciousness

“Vinamilk’s experience area is one of the destinations that attracts a lot of visitors during the two days of the Green Vietnam festival. In addition to information about sustainable development, the company has brought green messages to consumers, especially young people, through interesting and attractive activities such as: planting trees, exchanging boxes, giving away tickets to the farm…”, the representative of the Organizing Committee shared.

According to Vinamilk representative, in just the first morning of the festival, more than 3,000 boxes were brought; many students and children participated.

“Some of you brought nearly a hundred boxes. Talking to you more, we were very happy to see that the recycling and environmental protection awareness of young people is very good and has spread to adults to participate,” the company representative shared.

In particular, Vinamilk gave away many “huge” gifts to participants, including tickets to visit Vinamilk Green Farm. 30 tickets were given away instead of 20 as originally planned, as this activity received support from more than 200 participants.

Sharing the reason for participating in this activity, Ms. Tran Thi Thu Cuc (Go Vap District, Ho Chi Minh City) said: “My children and I love trees, Vinamilk's experience area is a very suitable playground to teach children lessons about planting trees and recycling products to protect the environment. My children are also very excited about the farm tour, because they are very curious about what the living quarters of Vinamilk's dairy cows will be like.”

As one of the special customers who brought nearly 400 beverage cartons, Le Thi Ngoc Binh, a student at Hong Bang International University (HCMC), shared: “I hope that the journey of recycling milk cartons will continue, so that they can become useful items. Coming here, I was surprised to learn that only 26 cartons can make a flower pot, or more than 150 cartons can be recycled into a notebook…”.

In particular, visitors were pleasantly surprised to learn that tables, chairs, and decorative items such as green potted plants were all recycled, or that the entire Vinamilk display area was made of environmentally friendly materials; the panels were recycled from 22,000 milk cartons, all calculated and measured to maximize their use for other events, limiting waste to the environment...

Encouraging green consumption, “friendly” the Net Zero theme

In addition to activities on the theme of recycling, reusing, and encouraging sustainable consumption, Vinamilk hopes that the experiential activities will help many young people get closer to products with “green” elements and concepts such as Net Zero to join hands in taking action for the environment. This is also the general message that Vinamilk wants to convey through the theme of the experiential area: “Do the unthinkable, for a green Vietnam”.

Vinamilk shared with the community the journey of Green Farm milk boxes by experiencing on-site, learning about milk vacuum technology, or green practices at factories and farms, helping to reduce emissions and move towards carbon neutrality.

When participating in Vinamilk's activities, children can easily visualize through examples such as the amount of carbon neutrality at Green Farm equivalent to 30,000 football fields covered with trees, or the renewable energy here is equivalent to the amount of electricity for 2 round-trip tram trips from Earth to the Moon.
