Team Viettel - a team of experts from Viettel Cyber Security Company (Viettel Cyber Security - VCS) won the championship of Pwn2Own Toronto 2023. This is the first time a Vietnamese cybersecurity company has won the overall championship at the world's largest cyber attack competition.
This year, Team Viettel brought to Pwn2Own Toronto 2023 a team of 16 information security experts, including 75% of Gen Z. White hat hackers from VCS tested attacks on target devices including mobile phones, 3 types of printers, smart speakers, SOHO Smash-up (small office equipment) and network storage devices.

Team Viettel achieved absolute scores in 7/7 categories, with a score of 30, a gap of 12.75 points with the second place team and convincingly became the world champion.
Pwn2Own is the world's largest and most prestigious cyber attack competition organized annually by the Zero Day Initiative since 2007, considered the World Cup of the security world. In 2023, there were more than 20 teams from 17 countries. VCS's team of experts participated in Pwn2Own 6 times. In which, the first time, they ranked 5th. Winning Pwn2Own 2023 helps VCS continue to affirm its position as an international security unit, creating a mark on the world's cyber security map.
Previously, VCS's IT security experts have been recognized by the international community, world cybersecurity rankings and major technology companies such as Microsoft, Bugcrowd, Google... Up to now, VCS has discovered more than 400 Zero-day security vulnerabilities of major IT platforms and systems such as Microsoft, Oracle, Google, Apache, VMWare... contributing to minimizing cyber attacks and improving global cybersecurity knowledge.
Regarding Pwn2Own, this year's event has eight different categories for contestants, including Mobile Phones, Home Automation Hubs, Smart Speakers, Printers, Surveillance Systems, Network Attached Storage (NAS), Google Devices, Small Office/Home Office (SOHO) Smash-up with over $1 million in prize money.
