Vietravel Airlines flight number VU1329 took off at 7:05 (local time) from Daegu International Airport and landed at 10:40 (Vietnam time) at Cam Ranh International Airport. On this special flight, in addition to providing Vietravel Airlines' standard services, the airline also gave passengers conical hats, a symbolic souvenir of Vietnam, as a way to welcome and promote national culture.
In the near future, the airline will increase the operation of regular flights to expand the Vietnam - Korea flight network.
Mr. Vu Duc Bien, General Director of Vietravel Airlines shared: "During the period when the tourism industry is accelerating its recovery and travel boom after the freezing period, Vietravel Airlines decided to launch charter flights connecting Daegu city and Cam Ranh city to meet the increasing demand of passengers in both countries. This is also a competitive advantage of Vietravel Airlines in the early stages of entering the Korean market when it provides more travel options with reasonable costs and short travel times through direct flights".
According to a survey by InterNations in 2022, with the advantage of possessing a long and beautiful coastline, Vietnam has surpassed China, Japan and European countries to become the leading resort destination for Korean tourists. According to the General Statistics Office, in 2022, tourists from the "land of kimchi" accounted for the largest proportion of the total number of international visitors to Vietnam at 26.5%, reaching nearly one million visitors.
In Khanh Hoa province alone, after officially opening to international visitors from May 2022, Cam Ranh International Airport welcomed nearly 150,000 tourists from South Korea, accounting for nearly 75% of the total number of international visitors here. Explaining this boom, experts said that South Korean tourists tend to stay in one place for a long time to relax, so they choose to fly directly to quiet coastal cities like Nha Trang, Da Nang or Phu Quoc instead of other bustling big cities in Vietnam.
On the other hand, the Korea Tourism Organization in Vietnam recorded that the number of Vietnamese tourists to Korea in 2022 reached 80,000 people.
Passengers on the flight from Daegu - Korea shared a very good flight experience, Vietravel Airlines' crew was professional and friendly, always dedicated to serving thoughtfully.
Vietravel Airlines said it is coordinating with its partner in Korea to officially launch a series of 11 charter flights on the Daegu - Cam Ranh route from March 28, 2023 to May 7, 2023 with a frequency of one flight every five days and will increase the number of flights depending on market demand.
Vietravel Airlines currently operates 5 domestic routes connecting the capital Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City with major tourist cities such as Da Nang, Phu Quoc, Quy Nhon. For the international market, the airline currently operates direct flights from Hanoi to Bangkok and Ho Chi Minh City to Bangkok with a frequency of 14 flights/week during prime time.
